China to US: India a 'lesser power', not an equa

The US government source confirmed that the Americans were “quite taken aback by the quietly confident manner in which the Chinese turned down the US suggestion on India”.
I believe this is the same kind of "quite taken aback" that McArthur experienced when PLA came attacking across the Yalu River in Korea, devastating the US army and forcing them on a long retreat.

And the same kind of "quite taken aback" that Nehru experienced when PLA came attacking across the McMahon Line and destroyed or surrounded the whole indian elite army.

I have a feeling not too long from now the GOI will be "quite taken aback" as well.......

US to china, you are not equal to us either so STFU.

so china is more equal to north korea given its communism and caged citizens without any freedom. pitiful country i must say.

50 million foreign citizens travel to China every year and 20 million Chinese citizens travel abroad every year.

More than go to India, in fact.

The US B visa rejection rate from China is 13%. Macao, China, with a per capita GDP equal to Qatar, has 12%.

The rejection rate from India is 26%. sub-Saharan African nations like Lesotho have 21% rejection rates. Namibia is 15%.

Indeed, going by visa rejection rates, India is far closer to North Korea (23%) than we are on the international stage.

there's no harm in admitting that we have a long way to go. India continues to address the issues it faces and will occupy its rightful place in due time.
ridiculing others will not help India progress.

Agreed!! We are certainly not equal to China now but we are on the right track.

It is not my fault that the US considers India to be below many sub-Saharan African nations and North Korea (with a lower visa rejection rate) in terms of civil quality. Take it up with the cousins of your former colonial masters, not us. They are the ones who are ridiculing the growing numbers of illegal Indian immigrants, not us.

Given Indian media's proven record of baseless fear mongering re China, I'm less inclined to trust an Indian newspaper's claim of accessing to an anonymous U.S. government source until the same source confirms to an U.S. media outlet.

Hubris: Hubris ( /ˈhjuːbrɪs/), also hybris, means extreme haughtiness, pride or arrogance. Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one's own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power.

Middle power - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Though of course Indians like to think they are a superpower already.

China too is a middle power according to your link.

Another article citing anonymous sources especially from an American official, is this even print worthy? I forgot, propaganda and misdirection do not follow proper journalistic guideline.

Below the map it says this map is from 1999. It continues with the following text:

The United Kingdom, China, France and Russia are great powers due to strong economies and their status as recognised nuclear powers and their permanent seats on the UN Security Council. Some academics also believe that Germany and Japan are not middle powers but great powers, due to their economic strengths and global influence.[8] The overlaps between the lists of middle powers and great powers, and between the lists of small powers and middle powers, show that there is no unanimous agreement among authorities.

Germany is a great power in terms of technology and economy, although our small army is amongst the most modern in the world, I would still consider it rather middle power.

Where is Korea?

indan problem is without US coat tail so called indan "assertiveness" can hardly cross its own border. Look around - Pakistan Afghanistan Srilanka Bangladesh. Yet india will be assertive in Vietnam and east asia? Can india sustain such costly adventure keeping half of its population poor? US here to use india but if india thinks it can score point against China riding on US shoulder China should let india take that fatal ride.

IF becoming a great power means asserting "your own will on other countries" then India is better off being lesser power but then again isnt it Bangladeshi, who claim that all their govt does is, "India's bidding"..or how govt sitting at center are Indian stooges.
Or how US has most stooge govt in the world.

So it seems India is already on its way to becoming one .

One down, 190 more to go.

india will NEVER be equal to china EVER!

india is a western colony like japan and south korea.
just a slave to the west.

we smashed the living s**t outta india in 1962, thus showing we are absolutely superior.

we are superior to india in every possible way.

this is china's world, u just live in it!
