I believe this is the same kind of "quite taken aback" that McArthur experienced when PLA came attacking across the Yalu River in Korea, devastating the US army and forcing them on a long retreat. The US government source confirmed that the Americans were “quite taken aback by the quietly confident manner in which the Chinese turned down the US suggestion on India”.
And the same kind of "quite taken aback" that Nehru experienced when PLA came attacking across the McMahon Line and destroyed or surrounded the whole indian elite army.
I have a feeling not too long from now the GOI will be "quite taken aback" as well.......
