China to provide 'multiple forms of bailout packages' to Pakistan: official

This is trade they are not giving aid but FDI. It is just like when some European or north American countries invest in Bangladesh or India. Care to explain to me it is different from that?

FDI coming from a single country?

If this was real commercial FDI then other countries would be interested.

If may work out for both Pakistan China in the end but it is obvious that this is China trying to boost the Pakistan economy and this has been wrapped in the "FDI" label.

Do not get me wrong, this is the best of lots of bad options for Pakistan, but to be a truly independent country then it should not be reliant on any one country for it's economic survival.

If China gives cash that will not get distributed to General public but rather go in projects and end up in few pockets with China investing this money will create jobs and will be distributed in the economy thus increasing GDP and expanding economy.
China has the largest reserves. Only a fool would decline Chinese investment. Of course the modalities have to be worked out, but everyone knows where the cash is.

It is funny the West lectures us about the dangers of trading and cooperating with "evil" China when the biggest lenders are Western nations and institutes themselves. Today many nations have put all of their eggs in one basket which is the Western basket.

Who says that other nations aren't interested in Chinese FDI? China is already investing in many other nations around the world. Pakistan is just one nation.

Secondly you are putting your eggs in one basket. The Western nations all have a similar business model. In fact the whole system is essentially collectively one. America dictates this economic system. If the Americans say A it is A. All other Western nations follow the dictation. That is hardly an independent system.

So what makes you think other countries are not investing? Saudis are. Qatari are Turkish are and the list goes on. The reason China gets mentioned a lot is because of foreign propaganda and counter propaganda. China is world's leading economy and if they are investing it means they mean business so wake up Pakistan is an important country from one side or an other. There are perks of being a military power and strategically located you will not understand these.

In this world you make money by trade and you will be always reliant on your customers.

If tomorrow all the buyers of US products ditch whole US economy will collapse in days.

Let's be real here. Those that are opposed to Chinese investment in Pakistan are generally opposed to any sort of investment in Pakistan. Never before did these people or nations show any genuine interest in investing in Pakistan. Suddenly everyone is awake and worried about Pak economy. These are the same people and group of nations that want to rather destabilize Pakistan. Our arch enemy India has also found the goodwill to lecture us about the dangers of Chinese investment LOL isn't that a little odd to say the least?

Indeed. But your own stats tell a very different story. :o::o::o:

Pakistan attracts meagre $2.767bln FDI in 2017/18

So why are you so worried for? Shouldn't this be a moment of celebration for an ugly Indian? LOL

Any person who has an ounce of patriotism would celebrate massive Chinese investment in Pakistan. Surely China won't invest blindly and weigh the return of investment. The same applies for Pakistan. At the end of the day it is a huge win win for both sides.

. . . . . .
But still fuel is cheap in Pakistan and farmers are not committing suicide like India due to financial crisis.

LOL, How does that address Pakistan's debt as well as FDI inflows ?? Stick to the topic. :bunny::bunny::bunny:

.
Good news but also shows how much Pakistan is dependant on China for it's very economic survival.
Sadly that's due to the plague of corruption that has existed for decades now. Pakistan's financial problems are caused by its own ppl.

I am sticking to the topic bozo.

For example which country is best country to invest for manufacturing in south Asia?

India Bangladesh or Pakistan?

If you are looking to setup of manufacturing plant you will invest in country where labor is cheap and energy is cheap and in that Pakistan wins. That is why China is pouring money and investing in Pakistan. Chinese companies setting up production in Pakistan will win the global manufacturing race because they hold cheap production advantage. :)
