5000 troops? I don't believe China would do an agresive move like that against US, they normally trying to do things under radar... This is so bold, not something china would prefer, at least not yet. So most probably this news are fake.

one thing you have to learn about mid east sources is that they tend be very emotional & over sensationalize any small event, for instance several years ago when I used to follow Syrian war news, all the time there would be crazy "leaks" from mid east news souces that Russia is about to nuke US forces or sink USN ships or wipe out Israel, once there was even a semi official anouncement from a group of pro Iran militias that Russia will wage war with the US for the sake of Syria, several times military "leaks" & "sources" kept on saying that China will send it's airforce & CV-16 to commence airstrikes in Syria.

ofcourse all this "news" was nothing more than clickbates & wishfull thinking.

The $400B investment seems too much I am not even sure if Iran needs another country to make such a big investment. I think their bigger need is to be able to sell oil and to be free of sanctions as some other posters have pointed out so it seems does seem like fake or at least exaggerated news.

agreed that will pop a big red light in Middle East and beyond, Iran will never give basis to foreign troops even when US was our ally they did not have any military presence in Iran, just housing for family of the US engineers that were in Iran soooo, i will say it's big no on troops.

5000 security personnel, not military troops.

There are already Chinese security personnel in Iran for certain Chinese projects. They have their own buildings and living areas etc.

The $400B investment seems too much I am not even sure if Iran needs another country to make such a big investment. I think their bigger need is to be able to sell oil and to be free of sanctions as some other posters have pointed out so it seems does seem like fake or at least exaggerated news.

Iran needs foreign tech and assistance to develop its oil and gas fields. This is what China is doing here with this investment.

what are you even talking about? the leaks were not talking about proxy war they said that Russia was litteraly about to sink American ships & kill American soldiers , yet this did not happen, then they said China will soon send it's J-15 to start bombing campaign in Syria.
this news about Iran recieving 400$ billion is as fake as the news that Russia was about to sink Burke DDGs & US CVNs just for Syria.

like come on you can't be serious, the entire BRI is "only" 1$ trillion & now they think China will invest 400 in Iran, yeaaah right LOL, this is only a wishfull thinking from Iranian sources that got circulated around by other news media as "news".
