Nov 14, 2013 (LBO) - China Harbhour Engineering Company has inked a deal to build a golf course and two hotels in Hambantota and Katunayake with an investment of over 500 million US dollars, an official said.
A resort in Mattala will have a golf course, a 250-room hotel and a tax free shopping complex, Johanne Jayaratne, executive director of Airport and Aviation Services of Sri Lanka said.
A 200-room transit hotel in Katunayake will also have a 1000 vehicle car part and tax free shopping facilities, he said.
CHEC signed a memorandum of understanding with the AASL Wednesday in Colombo.
The two projects are estimated to require an investment of between 540 to 640 million US dollars.
