As you have revealed your belief where due to the competition between the two countries, that the people of both countries should look at each other and treat each other differently makes you no different from those who attacked Asians on the streets of NYC out of ignorance and hatred.
The anti-China policy extend from the US unwilling to accept the reality of a multi-polared global world, and that is perilous for every country of the world including the US. That is not bad mouthing. Once the US learned to coexist with other powers and respect each other's sphere of influence, there is actually very little conflict of interests between the two countries. The sooner that can be achieved, and more stable and peaceful the world will become. As I've already said before, the US will eventually come to that conclusion.
However your mentality says much about your world view as not an individualist but a collectivists, where you derive your self-worth from American exceptionalism rather your individuality, where you are taking my statement personally. That makes me question your identity as an American.
