The Sino-Vietnamese war was a disaster for China, because they lost 26K troops in a month and having achieved nothing.

China's achievement was fighting a war in other country's territory so our own territory is not destroyed. We learned this from WW2. That's why we choose to proxy fight USA in Korea and proxy fight USSR in Vietnam.

But our best generals was trained in Vietnam and did it themselves in front battles.

The human wave was all that China knew how. Nothing to brag about. It was so badly done at Điện Biên Phủ that Võ Nguyên Giáp nearly booted his Chinese advisors out of the valley.

The so-called "Chinese dogs" invaded viet islands and land, the land of viet legally gifted to China, and the island, those viet are too scared and to weak to take back those islands lost not once but twice.
They're weaker then a "dog" and everything they can do is crying in the internet forum =)) because a whole country can't handle a dog.
My friend "Sin Pateh": the main point to talk to them is not to reason, just make fun or try something to hurt them, never agrue with them, first: they dodn't do that, and second: you waste your enegry to do that =))

Nope, in fact we have modernized Vietnam's Navy, forces ready to beat "the dog" if it bite us once more.

Vietnam dont need navy all it need some 100o km missiles and fewnukes.vietnm is in ideal location to send PRC centuries back by launching missiles and take down PRC's east coast and hence its economy.

"Human wave" is product of China only.
My brother, who fought against PLA in 1979 - 1986, said that, when Chinese troops entered the cannon battlefield of him, he saw very many bodies of Chinese soldiers were flew up and down by bullet cannon of Vietnam's forces.

Then we took their islands, booted off their sailors into the ocean, and permanently occupy them. damn if we keep "failing" how long will it be until Vietnam ceases to exist?

maybe we should "fail" against Korea again, and reduce Seoul's population back to 50,000.
