It is very much the point, if someone holds US citizenship they are legally an American. After all America is a country of immigrants and not everyone in American is 'white'.

Were the first Europeans that established America not American despite being born overseas? Are Asian American (Indian, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Pakistani..) congressman or Mayors not American?

The modern WASP society is a bit more open minded than the low life white racists, but it doesn't change their hostile nature toward our people.
