I strongly disagree with your opinion. I understand that China's thirst for oil and gas inspired it to capture East Turkistan and rename it to Xinjiang, but that is occupied land and not part of mainland China. Settling more Hans Chinese's and calling the locals terrorists will never bring lasting peace. My Chinese roommate in college acknowledged the fact that Xinjiang is way backward then the rest of China. USSR had to eventually give up the occupied Muslim and Christian countries. Latvia, Georgia, Luthinia etc were all Christians and Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan etc were all Muslims. China will have to come to terms with the reality internally to have equal rights for all people within its territory otherwise it will continue to have issues. History repeats itself.
