Li Baodong, China’s Permanent Representative to the UN, has submitted China’s official baselines of the territorial waters of the Diaoyu Islands and their affiliated islets.
Li Baodong presented the document during his meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the United Nations headquarters on Thursday afternoon. He’s also stressed China’s stance on the issue.
Li said, "I stressed to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, that the Diaoyu Islands have been an inalienable part of China’s territory since ancient times. The Chinese people and government are determined and fully capable of defending our country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity."

As I remember all chinese here always say: 'it's no use to bring the territorial disputes to UN'

So, it's obvious that: China has No evidences for her claims in SCS(east sea) that's why, she dare not submits her evidences in SCS(east sea) to UN.

Why would Korean bring this to UN, as it has the actual control of the island. It is always those who do not have the control or can not hold their claimed dispute territories effectively whining like baby to the UN, and yes in this case China is the crying baby.

China did not and has not been reacting stronger because in the case of S Korea, their common dad is silent on SK whereas in Diaoyu islands and SCS their dad may militarily interfere! That is the difference!
