Agility, its a joke in front of sukhoi35
35s having beastly powered pesa when compares to rafale aesa,yeah I agree that rafale have better ews,but su35s is not bad either in this too. After all 35 is an air superiority fighter designed by Russians as a stopgap measurements to counter f22. Where rafale is just amultyrole fighter in medium category, its biggest strength is shoot and scoot strategy or hide and seek policy,which may not work against su35 equipped with powerful radar flying high.

Well with Spectra EW suite, active cancellation to reduce rcs further, long range AESA, excellent super cruise, Clean RCS of 0.1-0.3, better weapons, Rafale is indeed ahead of Su-35.

The main purpose for China to purchase Su-35 is merely the balancing of trade between China and Russia, since Russia is unhappy with exporting only natural resource to China.

The PLAAF is less interested in this fighter than the politicans, thats why it takes such a long time to sign such small number of fighters, it is just a political trade.
