China speaks better English than India, says study

These gawking chaps must have been villagers where Chinese is but a rarity as let us say, Chivas Regal.

They are foolish, if they thought that you were a giraffe. I am sure you are nowhere as tall as them.

In villages in some parts of the country, they are very wary of outsiders including Indians who are not from the area.

I would not condone their behaviour or make any excuse for their foolishness.

I apologise for any hurt that you may have experienced by their behaviour.

If you came to Calcutta, they would not even know you were a foreigner, since we have many Chinese out here, and what is more, they would have probably spoken in Bengali thinking you are from Tangra!

Next time you are here, please let me know and I will give you a conducted tour so that you can understand India better.

We are not perfect, but we try harder!

Call us Avis, if you wish!

Your level of denial is ridiculous.

Not hypocritical, but downright stupid!

We had many Nigerians when I was in the Academy.

One of them went on to become a Governor.

There was no discrimination and what is more the chap who became a Governor later, was the Academy Cadet Adjutant!

He was a fantastic boxer and an fabulous athlete.

He had great leadership qualities!

Indians making fun of black people, for having "dark skin"... is the most hypocritical crap I have ever heard of.

Have they looked in a mirror?

What denial?

And how come this surfaced - (The writer is a Black American PhD student at the Delhi School of Economics.)?

The witches Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble?

Tianling, Are you a Black American doing PhD in Delhi?

Sorry, I will refrain from gawking with incredulity as what has come to pass. What a transformation! From a Chinese to an Afro American!!

Children enjoy the TV show Mutant Ninjas.

And now come this

The article is by a Black American PhD student at the Delhi School of Economics who experienced severe racial discrimination in India. The passage I quoted was from his experience of being treated like an animal.

Did you even read the article?

Oh please ... don't glorify your distaste towards Indians by bringing in color into the argument. The fact that you made this statement, puts you in the same category as some of our "fairer" cousins would do across the border.

I thought Indians in different parts of India already had very different skin tones.

It was your friend Ray who started attacking Chinese people, as usual.

As before, I have no problem with Indian people as individuals. In fact, the Indian minorities in HK are very well behaved, and contribute a lot to our society.

What annoys me is the country itself, as well as hypocritical Indian patriots like Ray.

And yes, I do find it hypocritical that Indians are so willing to put their own countrymen down over skin tone, let alone black people.

And then try to take some moral high ground over Chinese for the issue of racism.

Typical Chinese. Hot on fabrication and after thought!

You added (The writer is a Black American PhD student at the Delhi School of Economics.) later,

I thought it was your experience since it was not mentioned.

How about a link so that it is not the usual fabrication as in the half African Chinese case.

And how some sagacious thought on the Chinese Daily report at Post #333?

And so ? Which is precisely the reason why you won't find Indians discriminate based on color and your references to the sole article also does not portray any discrimination... rather curiosity from the spectators. Feeling out of place does not mean that one is being discriminated.

Heck I would feel out of place going to a redneck village in the heartland of the US, but does it mean that I am being discriminated based on my color? Leave US, even if I were to go to a place in China, where people aren't familiar seeing "Indian" faces, I would be stared at... should I scream racism in that case?

I already posted the article and thought you would at least try reading it first. Typical Ray, can't see anyones articles besides your own.
