HAHAH lol.. Believing you can outsmart the world every time you copy would be recorded in the biggest blunders, but having a platform to build upon would help you a foolproof growth. We have a good R&D which creates an opportunity to understand the Know how thats we are being able to push hard for TOT. You get technology from the wrong means where as we learn through proper channel.. Our Industry supports better than Chinese for a simple reason that we have a platform to build upon and a future to accelerate, but China on the other hands would have to start from the very beginning if Other nation crack your nuts.

Well, the Chinese spies in the Western nations can be actually spotted quite easily because of their race.

Since a US scientist of the Taiwanese background was accused for stealing the top US nuclear technology for China, then imagine how difficulty for a spy of different race to make a move.

Dream Project stutters to a stop,2000 crore and 20 years later

Two decades after venturing into an ambitious project to make an indigenous engine for our LCA, a project which was supposed to propel India into exclusive club of engine makers and meet domestic requirements with a 2000 crore rupees and 20 years of research , the engine project is abandoned for technical reasons.

However the Kaveri_snecma one with a projected 90kn thrust (+ reheat thrust) will be made and negotiations are still on.

What a shame!

DRDO is now saying it can power navy ships with modifications and can power LCA-Mk1 only.
