What's new

China seems to have figured out how to make 7nm chips despite US sanctions

Precisely, US cant even make 7nm chips and China has surpass US. This must have upset a lot of western bootlickers. :enjoy:

China beats the whole western world in the semiconductor in the mid-2020s, and the aerospace industry in the late-2020s.

We don't want to boast too much, either want to eat too many humble pies.

This should be a realistic estimation as the US right now is rotten into the core, and that's why they cannot even keep for another full decade.

They are in the free fall mode.

Even ASML starts to ignore US government order. China market has become even more important than US and others.

LOL! How are they going to do that since their machines use US parts/technologies?????

Typical Chinese making stuff up.

US ask ASML to stop selling DUV to China, did they follow this order?

ASML can blackmail US back by banning all equipment sales to US if they push their luck to far. They can ask China investor to come in.

You are too low tech to understand the power of Chinese. You mind frame is restricted by western standard.
That’s no west or east. Innovation needs free spirit. I see little hope for China. Too much inbreeding. That’s no offense just my honest opinion. the same inbreeding happens here in Germany, France as well. Most clap themselves on own shoulders celebrating little success. If you want to excel go to US. Before someone here claim I am too biased no I am not I speak from my own experiences.

It’s not easy. I doubt Huawei can.
It doesn't matter whether we can or cannot, at least we try. The effort alone scares the West. 10 years ago, nobody would've believed what we achieved today. China is heading the right way, thats why the West is shivering. You and I both know this. We Hans had been surviving for 5000 years, been through hell and heaven, war and peace, you think we won't survive another 1000 years? We are the second most powerful nation on earth.

1) when you denied us entry into ISS, we kept quiet, grind our teeth and built our own.

2) when you sanctioned us militarily, we kept quiet, grind our teeth and made our own weapons.

3) when you denied us access to semicon equipment, we kept quiet, grinded our teeth and is building our own.

4) you said our trains were crap and slow, we built the worlds largest hsr network.

5) you said our deserts were expanding, we built the worlds largest forest.

6) you said we emit the most greenhouse gas without thinking we produce those gas due to manufacturing for the world. We built the world's largest green energy system.

7) you said our cars suck, we built the best battery technology for the next generation EVs.

8) you said our carriers are junk, we built the new EMALS carrier.

You see a patten here? This is the stubborn Han you are talking about. We fight! We might be quiet and look docile, but deep within all Chinese is an anger to reclaim our God given right in this world and the lost glory of the Huaxia civilization. Remember we are not just a country, we are oldest surviving Civilization on this sweet earth.

This is great news!
Hopefully we can see more Chinese GPUs!

Lol mate, I guess you are a long time out of Vietnam, most of our goods are either local or chinese/taiwanese (PC parts, home appliances), japanese (headphones, controller, electronics) or korean (phones, monitors).

In fact, the only american stuff I buy nowadays are GPU (Nvidia) and CPU (AMD), the moment the chinese can make them, it's finally over for the US.

"Excel" my @ss.

Delusion at its best. You are living in a control environment where biased western media feed u info only what they want u to hear.

Did China steal US 5G. Or BYD steal US blade battery technology? Or the electric catapult of China Fujian aircraft carrier of DC power is also steal from US faulty AC design?

Nowadays with rise of internet. Any unqualified high school dropout can also write an article pretending to be some knowledgeable professional try influence the ignorant

LEAP-1C is expected to be in market as the main product for 20 years. What nonsense are you talking about? For a commerical airplane, engine is not everything. If you have an ill efficient body plane couple with good engine is useless.

China has intellectual property of C919 body. Then a highly fuel efficient airplane body is useless if cost and maintenance is too high. There is alot of science and commerical operating cost involved in making a truely commercial success passenger airplane and China is not far being. We have the right facilities, industries , fund and talent to compete with best of western.

Dude, I am talking just about engine technology.

I took CJ-1000A targeting LEAP-1C technology to demonstrate that by the end of this decade China will still be a decade behind the West in engine tech.

China is making great progress but do not overestimate what you can achieve by 2030. You will still be behind the West in a few sectors.

Behind the west? The France scnema M88 engine is underpowered compare to WS-10B engine and that is the best combat aeroengine they can produced.

The french and Italian navy can only import LM-2500 gas turbine for their most modern warship.

I don't think China is far behind the west. CJ-1000A once enter service, it's still relevant in the market. Even the american don't introduced every new engine in just 4-6 years time.

M88 and WS-10B are two completely different engines in terms of thrust class.

Anyway M88 is French and they are behind the UK and US that are the leaders in engine technology in the world.

Compare 2005 US F-119 to WS-10B and you will see the diffence between the West and China.

Last I heard CJ-1000A is now put back to late 2020s/2030 and that would be equivalent to a late 2010s LEAP-1C Western(US/France) engine.

Dude, I think you lack knowledge in this area and that is fine. Please spend some time researching to get your knowledge level up to correct level and then come back.
