First , everything you are using a a copy of something before Second : All is fair in love and " war", the result is the only thing that matters.
yeah we agree, when one can illegally produce copies and terms them indigenous, no imports required.

Russian Experts Say Chinese Air Power Will Soon Match Russian, US Capabilities

are you that naive? atleast it works at home.

You never copy or you can't copy?

Indians copied the British government from the beginning to end. Does that make Indian government illegal?

As for technical capabilities, all of smart Indians are out of country of India. Since India never have the experience of creating a government system that suit itself, instead of Britain, they have no idea on how to run the country, it's like putting a square peg on a round hole. Naturally, India cannot retain its few best and brightest.

Chinese military will soon match and surpass Russia in capability. But it's still quite a way from US.

We could not retain the few brightest and the best. But the good thing is, the remaining left out lot had put the economy on an impressive growth rate and ironically enough, the scientists have been able to put a probe in Mars orbit in first attempt, which no other country have not achieved. Isn't it an amazing thing?

India did put a probe in the Mars orbit with the assistance of US deep space monitor. This is equivalent of building Brahmos. An impressive but something India would not be able to achieve on its on. India should stop bragging about its joint venture achievement and start working hard.

China has amazing news coming out every single day, technology know-how is always shared in the whole human history, our history is about learning from each other, the only difference is someones learn faster, someones learn slower.

:rofl::omghaha: how desparate :shout:

After all the bragging of developing their own jet.. comes the import .... and now to ease the pain of not being able to copy them perfectly comes this ...:omghaha::omghaha:..... copy cats are failing big time

Seriously, your replies are getting so dumb these that, I have to ignore them from now on.

all big contracts have a ToT clause in them, everything India imports will help in developing local manufacturing. China are of course, way ahead, but do Chinese fighters really match up to Russian or American/western ones ? The Pakistanis are perhaps the only ones in the world who know for sure but we'll never hear a peep publicly on anything to do with it.

I think they probably still have a really long way to catch up to the other big guys in terms of becoming a reliable alternative, fighter planes aren't exactly consumer electronics.

I never doubt about Chinese achievements in economy, science and technology, social reforms etc. You have achieved these in a far better manner and way faster than us and I envy you for that. I just disagreed with another poster that India has not achieved anything due to its brain drainage.

Yes, no one knows for sure until they are battle proven. Russian and US jets are also not battle proven yet. But any industry needs all other industries support, that's where China gets the edge in the future.

Russian, US and other western jets have been exported to countless countries for decades now, and have seen a lot of action over those decades, their customers will vouch for the manufacturers, and have been placing follow up orders.

It'll be some time before China can break their monopoly and make a name for itself as a reliable producer for military equipment of that calibre, fighter jets being on a different level than, say, towed artillery or something lower tech like that.

Miles ahead of India though, that much in inarguable, but China have also been under sanctions since Tienanmen and have had much less opportunity to buy freely in the western market even if Russia has sold and allowed for license producing the SU-27 airframe etc.

You guys really ought to look at the west and Russia etc and see where you stand rather than act disparagingly toward poor India who are way behind in defence manufacturing.

.

Yes, NASA banned us from participating any international space programs and we still have to do it. one way or another.
