China says it is unaware of Pakistan naval port proposal

China is also confused they cannot believe on us know we dont know what we want to do and who is our enemy our armed forces dont know anything every one in pakistan is confused thats why they are still thinking about this proposal we are in probleums that why they are still thinking

the reasons are quiet obvious. China certainly dont want that Terrorist menance on its mainland. To say the least, this is just China being smart. So far no country on this planet has won over terrorism. Terrorism is like a cancer. It keep spreading, but never stops.

Being a hater of China( due to its back stabbing during 62) I can wish China to operate numerous airfields and bases in PAK. But also being a victim( lost my best friends in a bomb blast) of terrorism, I would say no to this proposal.

poor indians crying...! we lost thousands of our men women, children and friends in the name of so called WAR AGAINST TERROR and we still are losing! everbody knows who was behind these attacks but if we get help from either china or US, you started crying in the first place! you became nuclear power with the help of friends but we never said against that! you people are making T 50 with russia in a joint venture but suppose if Pakistan will joint venture with china in JXX program you people will again start your media propaganda that Pakistan is making 5th generation planes against India! hahaha
remember your 2009 era when you started propaganda against P-3C Orion surveillance aircraft and turned it into a bomber+surveillance!
every nation is a victim of terrorism so plz dont start again this anti-pak or anti-china attitude!

Did China accepted before it was helping Pakistan in 100s of ways it has been? Indians are indeed!
GO Happy China is not building any naval part in Pakistan.. the more you believe that.. the better it would be.

But what's the fuss?? where did AM lied?

Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar said on Saturday that his government wanted China to build it a naval base at the deep water port of Gwadar, in the latest sign of moves to bolster ties with Beijing after strains with Washington over the US operation that killed Osama bin Laden.

There is nothing in the article which says that China had accepted it. :coffee:

Well, if anyone thats been actually having interest to study China's foreign policy closely, its not China's way to declare any projects thats not at least getting started, especially on such sensitive one.

And its quite interesting to see some low EQ people jumping up and down with joy. It reminded me of Gwadar deep sea port project and we all know what happened before and after

Which was almost as good as the floating casino which turned up to be the first Chinese carrier
Chinese are very good at playing games. You can choose to or not to believe, but either way will still result in a surprise.

So for now, I guess for the average Indians can jump in joy and laugh at the issue. Whereas their politicians and military planners will looking at the response in a different manner and being very concerned.

he following is a global network of official Chinese media reports, can be confirmed. China agrees to run Pakistan port: report

Pakistan announced Saturday that China has agreed to its request to take over operations at a major port, while hoping that Beijing can also help build a naval base there, according to media reports. (Note that the red part of the Chinese media in accordance with established practice, the Chinese government is less than a certain period of time does not directly confirm the accuracy of the message, he would only through the foreign media to express their attitude)

"The Chinese government has acceded to Pakistan's request to take over operations at Gwadar port as soon as the terms of agreement with the Singapore Port Authority (SPA) expire," Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) quoted Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar as saying in a statement.

According to APP, Mukhtar said Pakistan appreciated that the Chinese government agrees to run the port, but would be more grateful "if a naval base is constructed at the site of Gwadar for Pakistan."

The statement by Pakistan's defense chief was made after his visit to China with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

During Gilani's visit, Pakistan also requested frigates of 4,400 tons on a credit basis and asked the Chinese government to train Pakistani personnel in submarine operations, APP said.

However, the defense minister did not mention when China will take over operations at Gwadar port.

Gwadar port, 333 kilometersfrom the exit of the Straits of Hormuz, is the third deep-sea port of Pakistan following Karachi port and Bin Qasim port.

Gwadar has been run as a commercial port under the current deal between Pakistan and SPA, so China's possible takeover is merely a business activity based on market rules, Zhao Gancheng, director of South Asia Studies at the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, said to the Global Times.

"Pakistan's hope of cooperation with China in building a naval base is nothing but a proposal," Zhao added. "The suggestion is natural given the fact that China helped Pakistan construct Gwadar port."

India's Defense Minister A.K. Antony last week voiced "serious concern" toward so-called growing defense ties between China and Pakistan and said New Delhi's only answer is to strengthen its military capabilities, Reuters reported.

As a major world trade power, it is obvious that China has its own interests in the Indian Ocean, just like other countries in the region, including India, Zhao told the Global Times Sunday.

"It serves China's interests to see peace and stability in the region so any speculation on China-Pakistan cooperation will be meaningless," he added.

Reports of China's agreement to run Gwadar port came amid the recent diplomatic row between Pakistan and the US following Washington's unauthorized military operation to kill Osama bin Laden on Pakistani soil.

US President Barack Obama has said he would approve a similar military operation if another militant leader were found in Pakistan.

maybe our PM and defence minister were day dreaming......

now indians will create mess in blochistan by supporting militant groups around blochistan .

I do not see any thing new in your views regarding on going freedom fighting going on in Balochistan. This is what guilty people do the best. Have you ever thought about East Pakistan situation and what brought upon the break up of your nation? Your politicians and Army, who have no long term vision for a nation which has very bright future only if the leadership gets out of the umbrella of money sucking inside and outside so called friends. I would suggest you to make a spreadsheet and start counting that your nation has lost to foreign powers and as well as the money and land looted by the armed forces big wigs. I am not expressing my views to shed negative that exists in your nation, but hope all the proud citizens of Pakistan get to gether and put the past actions of all politicians and Armed Foces brass under a Microscope and demand the accountability from the ruling class and settle for nothing less than complete truth from every responsible citizen. If you do not get the truth get rid of those individuals once for all.

You are not only facing the terrorist whom you nurtured and gave birth with USA help. You also have to take into account the weather condition, for which your nation paid a very heavy price as the responsible people in authority did prepare Pakistan to avoid the natural disaster of the year 2010.

My friend when I hear the cries of people over the BBC urdu service trust me it only brings tear to my eyes and lot of other people who have compassionate heart for the people being put through avoidable disasters. If it can not be prevented completely at least there are ways to reduce it. I hope you will agree with my view point.

The essence of my view is that people of Pakistan have to 180 degree turn and set the course for self reliance. This will improve your nation profile in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Best of luck.
