China’s ‘eye-in-the-sky’ nears par with US

The US Government pays $100 Billion per quarter in interest on debts alone. That's in a low interest rate environment too. I know they can print money, but scary nevertheless.

US farm productivity is something like 158 bushels of corn per acre vs. 85 bushels for China. There is a lot of room for China to catch up but the country needs water to do it.

reliable and abundant food production is a strong point of USA/ even if economy goes bust...they will have enough home grown food on the table.

chinas food ptoduction may be lower but directly employing far more people than USA.

We can also get some "Water management technologies" from Israel and Singapore. So less water will be needed, and less water will be wasted.

That will be very important in the future.

.
people are overestimating US in the next 10-20 years.

People are also overestimating China in the next 10-20 years.

Especially institutions like IMF and the World Bank.

It is best to be patient, and continue to work hard. We will see what happens.

Russia and US of course leads due to the cold war build up. they are the tier 1 space power.

Quite a few country are in the under dozen range: Japan, Germany, Israel and China are all just 1 or 2 satellites away from each other all fighting for 3rd spot. I am surprise France is not a major contender given it's launch capability while Germany relies on Russian assistance...

India and Brazil are honorable mention, they are new so lack the number yet.

.
Even when we are ahead of U.S., it never is in China's interest to have a major conflict with U.S.

The korean war is different since U.S. army is at our door. Otherwise, to keep a peaceful relation is good for both countries.

However, if some dumb leaders and military hawks from U.S. keep interfering China's reclamation of taiwan and SCS, unfortunately we will see some conflicts there. I just hope U.S. understands that China will not back down at all for its own territory issues, if U.S. has not learned anything from Korean War and Vietnam War.

So besides the USA and Russia, Japan is the third power in space science right!?

China is just ahead India and Brazil in some points!?

No country is quite so blessed as the US in its geographical position in the world. Straddling both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, having massive amounts of domestically exploitable resources (and a similar friendly country to the north), and being the largest net exporter of food in the world should keep the US as a world power, if not a superpower, by default. Many countries rely on us to feed their people, including China. The US has long been a leader in innovation, and that is unlikely to change due to the nature of the country. A tolerance of failure is necessary for a culture of innovation, and the US has that tolerance ingrained.

Overall you're underestimating the capacity of the US, a rather common mistake. I can't blame you as Americans tend to consistently underestimate their own country and overestimate their competitors, it's no surprise those who want to believe it would choose to believe it.

Just remember predicting the economy in 20 years is a fools errand. Economic crisis' have always come and gone. Whose to say such a crisis will exist in 40 years?

I think you are mistaken, USA is the biggest net IMPORTER of food in the world, where as china is the net exporter of food but not the biggest.

Actually only US is a tier one space power.

Russia has launched a lot of satellites but only some actually function.

China and Russia are 2nd tier space powers.

Others don't even have enough for an honorable mention.

China is still far lag far behind the USA but hey where is the Japan!? They are not bad in these fields!?

Any numbers?

No, we just have alot of "spare" communication satellites. In the future that number will increase because you never know when the main ones go offline.

Always good to keep tons of spare satellites, dozens preferrably.
