China riles Vietnam with island cruise

I can understand a bit of Vietnamese, but I speak only Mandarin. That is because Vietnamese is heavily derived from Chinese. Most of their culture is Chinese culture, but modified for the specific conditions of Vietnam.

You are saying opposed to historical fact. History, Lands of southern China were the lands of BaiYue (Bach Viet). Parts of them were tribal Lac Viet and Au Viet are Vietnam today, other parts were assimilated by Han chinese. So can say the source of South Chinese today who are the BaiYue people (BachViet, Viets)....

They have 70-80% of Han Y-DNA in their father side, how they can be your brothers?

Most of the Cantonese here hate the Viets who want to claim any brotherhood with them, they will undoubtly spit on your face if you keep doing that.

They fear the CCP will treat them like the Tibetans or the Uighurs. You cannot know what they will do...

Some Cantonese conservatists refuse to speak Mandarin because they believe that Mandarin is a bastard language which got polluted by the Manchus, while Cantonese is the true heir of the ancient Chinese.

I bet they would probably kill you if you say their dialect is Baiyue.

Maybe they were assimilated by the Han chinese so much, and CCP brainwashing and propaganda for them. You can refer our BaiYue here:

can viets understand cantonese?

Well, they could tell Cantonese to learn Vietnamese because it is their true mother tongue.

In their language still retains the syllables of the BaiYue, while we have changed the language in recent centuries.
Don't worry, we will teach them modern Vietnamese language when they return to Vietnam.
