Chinese and Pakistani air forces today launched joint drill by pressing in several contingents of fighter jets, bombers and early warning aircraft.

The joint exercise is part of a series of military exchange programmes between the two air forces, Chinese Air Force spokesperson Shen Jinke said.

The two airforces deployed contingent fighter jets, bombers and early warning planes, Shen said.

The joint exercise called "Shaheen (Eagle)-4" is part of a series of military exchange programmes between the two air forces, Shen said, adding that China's air force was willing to expand the scope of cooperation with various countries.

The first such drill was held in Pakistan in March 2011, the second in China's western Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in September 2013, and the third was held in Punjab, Pakistan, in May last year.

Shen said that China's Air Force was willing to expand the scope of cooperation with various countries.

Over the years China has emerged as Pakistan's prime military weapon supplier as they forged close strategic relationship. The two countries jointly produce multi-role fighter J-17 Thunder.

Reports here said Pakistan plans to acquire another of China's multi role fighter the J-10.

J-10's first overseas buyer will be Pakistan, Fu Qianshao, an aviation equipment expert with China's People's Libration Army's air force told official media here recently.

According to the official media reports, China is wooing Iran to buy 150 jets of J-10 in the backdrop of lifting of UN sanctions.
Pakistan has dispatched a 75-member military contingent to take part in the September 3rd massive military parade held here to commemorate the 70 anniversary of victory against Japan in WW-II.

Shaheen series is aimed at creating synergy between PAF and PLAAF to bolster interoperability in complex threat environment. To be blunt, PAF is transferring knowledge of air warfare it gained by fighting India. Both air forces are preparing for a two front war.
i wont go to far in saying a two from war. Pakistan has the privilege with training with many countries and paf's experience is passed on to plaaf's and vice versa. also during Anatolian Eagle paf pilots in tuaf uniforms and f16's were pitted against the Israeli airforce. Israeli pilots are extremely very well trained, especially in the wvr category. also there was an interview with a paf pilot floating around the web, that said something similar but he refused to comment on it.
if paf really did go against the Israeli airforce and china trains with pakistan, then china would know Israelis manoeuvres and flight strategies.

Chinese and Pakistani forces on Sunday launched a joint air drill, a military spokesperson announced.

The Chinese contingent includes fighter jets, fighter bombers and early warning planes while Pakistan has dispatched fighter jets and early warning planes for the military exercise, Air Force spokesperson Shen Jinke said.

Shen, however, did not mention how long the drill would last, Xinhua news agency reported.

now that you mentioned tight lipped, plaaf might bring the j31 for an evaluation! give Pakistan a taste of Chinese stealth. pic below shows china giving the Pakistan air force a scale model of j31, next time it will be full scale

J-31 is just a technology demonstrator at this stage.
thats what you think. and china just gives the Pakistan airforce chief a j31 model for fun do they? might look nice on his mantel. yes it is an exercise but it's also a way for china to show of products to Pakistan that they may be eventually be interested in. to keep you happy i will change it from j31 to j10b how,s that? sound's more realistic, i know. yes i would put money on saying the j10b will be taking part.

.
J-31 is not even remotely combat ready yet. PAF most likely is involved in J-31 development in some capacity already, however it has nothing to do with this exercise. Shaheen series is like Red - Flag, its dirty DACT which PAF is known for and PLAAF wants to get its hands on it.
