China on India’s UNSC Bid: Neither "YES Nor NO"

The reason why you got a seat was simply because you were the "last man standing" versus Nazi aggression, the rule which also applied to China, and the Soviet Union. France was an exception, the whole French soil was already ruled by Nazi weeks after the war started, i.e. many years before creation of UN.

Yes, China meant ROC in that sense, which was the "last man standing" versus Imperial Japanese aggression, not PRC which was established only at 1949 after a civil war on mainland. PRC succeed the seat from ROC.

PRC,ROC,PRC,ROC,PRC...PRC,RC.........my buddy ignore this, meaningless.

.
Is india playing games destabling the area pushing Pakistan and china not to have rout to arabian gulf to get UN permenant seat...
India is getting alone in neighbour cuz of the best choice of people of india as Mody

.
India should drop the obsessiveness of joining the UNSC, P5 should remain as it is and not become P6.
I can't imagine each member would vote India to join.

If that is the logic, then china must drop obsessiveness in UNSC and exit from the group, will you do ? No wonder people like you are the most narrow minded people on planet.Keep it up...

India has disputes with all neighbors. Will Pakistan and his Islamic brothers agree with Indian requests?

At least read this before making comments.Pakistan does not have much value in world stage....

Reform of the United Nations Security Council - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Have ever thought why u are in this world... if u have any value then just think that how many time u have come on Pakistani forum complaining and putting effort to explain ur point of view and u really still saying Pakistan has no value
Maybe that will hurt u but this was the reason that ur own people actually chose islam cuz u think only thing value belongs to u..
Shame on ur democrasy and ur narrow minded nation.

Lool LMAO Britain and France have been secondary players after WWII while China has been a main /major player ? are you serious or being sarcastic?

Britain and France does not have independent foreign policies like US, Russia and China.
Britain and France just do whatever they are told by the US so is considered part of the US-bloc and not an independent country that can make its own decisions.

The geopolitics are fought between the 3 giants of US, Russia and China. None of the others have been very relevant.

US only has 2 challengers, Russia and China. They don't care about anyone else as they are either too small, too small or under American control through its NGO's and intelligence agencies.

Pretty much all of Western Europe are decaying into insignificance.

.
Again!, Thank ROC for getting Veto right and Nixon for kicking ROC and letting PRC in.

Didn't China almost took over Korea until US landed her ships :P .

No Western country cared about ur A Bomb or military might back in 1970's.

If you so sure about ur so called "Might", ask Russia to give back ur land :P
It's something little city state will not understand. In this world it's easier to be a lackey than a leader.

A closer, and more literate/intelligent, guesstimate should be: "Didn't US almost took over Korea until China sent her troops?"

Answer would be: Yes. A quick review ...
  • North Korean forces invaded South Korea on 25 June 1950.
  • On 27 June, the Security Council adopted S/RES/83 : Complaint of aggression upon the Republic of Korea and decided the formation and dispatch of the UN Forces in Korea. As many as twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the defense of South Korea, with the United States providing 88% of the UN's military personnel.
  • After the first 2 months of the conflict, South Korean and UN forces were on the point of defeat, forced back to the Pusan Perimeter.
  • In September 1950, an amphibious UN counter-offensive was launched at Inchon, and cut off many of the North Korean attackers. Those that escaped envelopment and capture were rapidly forced back north all the way to the border with China at the Yalu River, or into the mountainous interior.
  • In October 1950, Chinese forces crossed the Yalu and entered the war. Chinese intervention triggered a retreat of UN forces which continued until mid-1951. After these dramatic reversals of fortune, which saw Seoul change hands 4 times, the last 2 years of conflict became a war of attrition, with the front line close to the 38th parallel.
  • The fighting ended on 27 July 1953, when the armistice was signed
Just check Korean war history, a lot available on the web. It doesn't take much literacy or intelligence to do so.

Yeah, my ethnicity is indian. I just visited chennai, bangalore and kerala

Where did you learn that history? In Singapore, your hometown india or somewhere else?

After so many posts, I have given up on educating Indians and others on various topics. Let the ignorant stay ignorant.

I know the reform. What is India's reason to apply for UNSC? Is India more especial than other countries?

If you know the reform, then on what basis you thought islamic countries do not back India for UNSC ! What is India's reason not to apply for UNSC ! if a suppress regime can be in UNSC permanent member then why not India,Period !

The structure of United Nation Security Council 5 veto powers confirms the natural law that the strongest survive:

Only the inclusion of France was a bit "controvertial", yet I suspect that the decision was made more on the historical basis ( think about France as a huge colonial power to the level of Britania... Napoleon... and so on) and future intention which is to closely watch out Germany.

All 5 powers have fought amongst themselves in the course of the modern history to almost a "standstill" from the mid 18th century on... They have been the leading world powers, at least in fighting. Rising powers Germany and Japan tried to challenge them twice, both failed.

4 major factors decided the decision of ceding ROC's place to PRC in the UN, IMO:

1. PRC was also amongst the "last man standing" in WWII. On top of that it legitly won the Chinese Civil War that followed

2. PRC fought the US-led UN troops into stalemate in North Korea , despite having much weaker hardware

3. PRC (alongwith the Soviet)-suppored "victory"in the Vietnam War against the US

4. PRC's major strategic role at the most crucial moment in the Cold War btw the US and the Soviet (in addition, by that time PRC already was amongst the world's top 5 independent nuke powers.)

On the other hand, "India" is just another slave "country" that is not fit enough to carry suitcases for any of the UNSC 5. It was like that in the past. It is so today. It will be so in the foreseeable future. "Has right to join UNSC" my foot!
