My point was not that you liked China, BD and China can have whatever bi-lateral ties they wish.

The problem is that people resent India.
When India made goodwill gestures earlier this year , it was over analysed and every attempt made by India made into conspiracy theory or ploy to destroy Bangladesh.

when China gives you a good deal , your not even concerned about intentions , just the fact its offered. This was not so when India tried to do the same earlier last year.

Some BD members were completely obsessed with , supposed Indian Intentions and ulterior motives.It is more about Intentions with India then what India actually did.

But when it comes to China its all about Chines actions and less about intentions.

Heck even today , some BD people choose not event to recognise the death of Indian soldiers for Bangladesh during the war, Because Indian "intentions" happen to involve dealing a blow to Pakistan, Their sacrifice means nothing to some people as a result .
Which form my POV at least upsetting.

She would allow access to India ships access to the port.

We need China more than China needs us to counterpose Indian hegemony. The need for china felt even bigger when we decided to allow Indian goods to move through our land and ports.

I accept your first sentence. But, as far as I know, BD has allowed only limited and temporary transit to India. The adhoc transit treaty allows Indian heavy machineries for a Tripura power station to be transported through Meghna (?) to Ashuganj via water. The machineries are then tranported by rail to Indian border in Tripura.

About the Asian Highway, it is another 20 years when it will move out from the planning stage. No one really knows about the future of this project.

Indian offer and Chinese offer are not same in any way. So unlike approach by us to these countries is very usual. And the big thing is we do not have any problem with China and you must know the existing problems between India and BD.

That $1bn credit to improve Bangladesh's infrastructure , is the largest amount of cash , India has offered anyone. And BD does not even need to take all of , that is how much is on offer.
