China offers 500 MW Wind Power Project to Sindh

KARACHI: A Chinese firm has offered investment for establishment of 500-megawatt wind power projects in Sindh province.

The offer was made by a delegation of Hydro-China Dawood Power Ltd. during a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in Karachi.

Leader of delegation Wang Yong Qiang told the chief minister that the company is already in the process of establishing a 50-megawatt wind power project at Bhambore near Gharo.

Wang Yong Qiang, who was heading the delegation, was of the view that his company was ready to start working on a 50 MW wind power project at Bhambore area of the coastal belt.

We needed this investment years ago, but lets have it now atleast. It is vital for our economy that we have energy. Hope the govt doesnt waste too much time now.
 
Oil mafia is creating hurdles for wind power, they are against these small 50 MW wind power plants.
 
Why is sindh being offered? If i am not wrong, electricity is added to national grid, from there, it is provided to provinces.

Because the wind mills will be installed on sindhs costal areas due to heavy winds there, also after 18th amendment provinces are allowed to generate electricity, and also Chinese company don't own land there, they will ask sindh to let them invest in wind power and provide land for the project.
