China May Deliver 300 of Type 99 Main Battle Tank to Pakistan

.
who will protect them there basically isn't a strong SAM defenece network, the army still uses stingers, SA-7s, AAA batteries, its just pointless, the airfoce is too small and theres no real air defence, they'll be wiped out. its better to invest in A SAM network before thinking about this bullshit.

:rofl::rofl:

They will only be "wiped out" in the mental masturbations of bharti fan boys.

Do you know the amount of firepower required to "wipe out" thousands of tanks spread across vast plains and deserts, along with artillery backup, mechanized forces, radars, MRLs, infantry units, SAMs, air cover, and what not?

And india doesn't have massive fleet of B-52s that can damage such a large deployed force, and moreover... indian jets would be saving their a$$es from PAF in the air..

Pakistan already enjoys edge in artillery. Our offensive forces are better mechanized and can maneuver faster than laggy but large indian ground forces.

Our armor strength is massive. We need to keep strengthening it by retiring old tanks and replacing them with modern, hard-hitting battletanks...and increase the production of our trump-card (Al Khalid tank series!!). :pakistan:

. .
some idiot on here thinks heavy bombers like the B-52 is needed to take out tanks:crazy:
i'll refrain from bother to answer this brainwashed imbecile, quoting his post is almost like giving him some kind of respect. and with a -44 it summarizes his poor quality

. . .
then what about our very own Al Khalid. Instead of buying the tanks, upgrade Al Khalid and create infrastructure to roll out tanks at a faster rate. I suggest, Poland's obrum stealth tank features may be incorporated in Al - Khalid or Al Haider. If Pak Army still want to buy tanks then go for these.

105mm and still a technology demonstrator.

Are you crazy?

Why does armor doesn't mean anything in indo-Pak scenario?

Armor is always the offensive punch of any ground force. Tanks are important. We field thousands of tanks through the plains of Punjab and deserts of Sindh. These tanks form a very credible deterrence against any indian misadventure.

Tanks have proven their worth in Afghanistan aswell as FATA.. 2 recent examples from our own backyard.

Looks like war is upon us... Very soon. Time for new mapping :D

But on serious note. China and Pakistan might attack India. Time to go for shopping. Chinese are arming Pakistan and all these new weapons will be delivered in 3 or so time

water war is coming

Pakistan is repeating the same mistake as we did with USA.
Too much reliance on one foreign country.
Must mix weapon sources and buy from different countries..
Agreed mate, we must bring in the Turks too... actually we do have a lot of collaboration with them but with bigger weapon systems it's not very evident... what would you suggest btw?

Talks are underway for replacing older fleet. A customized version should come for trials soon, the problem is engine, as it is pretty similar to the one installed in VT-4, slightly more powerful. The 150HB series.

Frankly, fingers not crossed yet.

Agree, without proper air-cover Tank battalions will be a duck shoot for enemy Air-force, no matter how many they are.

China's Type 99 Recognized as World's Third Most Powerful Battle Tank

China’s Type 99 main battle tank used by the People’s Liberation Army has been ranked as third among nine of the world’s most powerful tanks, according to Focus, a magazine based in Munich, Germany.
The magazine said in an article on April 30 that a modern tank must be capable of facing enemy attacks from different directions. Taking from the experience of battling insurgencies in Iran and Afghanistan, modern tanks must also be able to engage enemies in an urban setting, the article said.
According to the article, Germany's Leopard 2 topped the list as the best modern tank. The German tank is armed with 120-mm Rheinmetall L55 smoothbore gun and two 7.62-mm MG3A1 machine guns.
Next in the list as second rank in the world is the U.S. Army's M1A2 Abrams, a strong tank with depleted uranium mesh-reinforced composite armor which protects its crew from majority of munitions.
Further, the Abrams's turret can rotate 360 degrees in just nine seconds and its M1A2 can reload its 120-mm L/44 M256A1 smoothbore gun in only two seconds. The tank can also deflect and disorientate anti-tank missiles by releasing flares, smoke and chaff decoys.
Third in the list is China's Type 99, which was recognized as the world's third most powerful tank. The PLA tank is armed with a 125-mm smoothbore gun. It also has a liquid-cooled diesel engine with 1,500 horsepower.
Next in the list of the most powerful tanks in the world is Britain's Challenger II, followed by Israel's Merkava 4, Russia's T-90, France's AMX-13, then Japan's Type 90 and South Korea's K2
