China-made large aircraft nose radome prototype works offline in Jinan

China-made large aircraft nose radome prototype projects in Dhi offline (Xinhua Wang Shuang) COMAC919 large-scale engineering prototype aircraft nose radome today at the China Aviation Industry Corporation, Jinan Special Structure Institute for offline delivery. Learned from the offline delivery of the ceremony, as a professional engaged in radome development, testing and production of scientific research units, the aircraft industry have already made special by one of the world and strive to cover the three major professional production base of the radar target.

Development of large aircraft is China's important strategic decision. Independent research and large aircraft, the development of competitive aviation industry, for the transformation of economic growth, promote scientific and technological development and enhance overall national strength and international competitiveness, accelerate the pace of modernization of great significance. Radome structure and function is the integration of components, equipped with weather radar antenna, is to ensure aircraft safety are important components, with high technical content. As the sole province of a large passenger aircraft involved in the project developed C919 units in June this year, the special aircraft industry's effort to C919 large-scale engineering prototype aircraft nose radome of the research task, in September through the design review, in November through the assessment process , December construction underway. The product is successfully off the assembly line in six months, marking the C919 project of developing a large passenger aircraft radome made significant progress, the follow-up by the China Aviation Industry radome special development work to lay a solid foundation. At present in Europe and the United States have a radome professional production base, with many years of professional production experience and scientific research strength, in the special aircraft industry as one of the world as now proposed by the three major professional production base of radome strategic objectives.

C919 Jumbo Jet on Track with Nose Delivery
Posted on 28 December 2009

December.28 (China Military News cited from CRI) — China’s jumbo jet manufacturer received the main structure of a sample jet nose in Shanghai Friday as it continues on its path to build a domestically-made 150-seat jet to compete against its United States and European rivals globally.

The nose, made by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Co, will be equipped and tested next year, Commercial Aircraft Corp of China, the jumbo jet maker, said Friday.

“The successful delivery of the main structure of the sample jet nose is a key fruit in the development of the C919 jet and signals a successful cooperation between the maker and suppliers,” Jin Zhuanglong, general manager of Commercial Aircraft, said at a delivery ceremony.

Commercial Aircraft has signed a memorandum of understanding with nine domestic suppliers to make parts for the jet.

CFM International, a joint venture between aerospace giant Safran and US conglomerate General Electric, signed an agreement with Commercial Aircraft this week to supply engines for the jumbo jet project. CFM will also form an assembly line with AVIC Commercial Aircraft Engine Co, the domestic engine supplier for the C919, to jointly set up an engine assembly line.

China will invest 200 billion yuan (US$29 billion) into the C919 to cut its reliance on Boeing and Airbus. The aircraft is set to make its first flight in 2014 and to be delivered to customers by 2016.

The prototype aircraft nose looks smaller in size. Why so?

Well, I know very little about aviation industry.

China needs another 20 years to challenge likes of Boeing and Airbus superiority in Civil Aviation sector

But no doubt chinese will acomplish their goals they have great local Industry , which can create - dreams into reality based on their vision planning and hardwork

Well, maybe China can first team up with Russia to build a better commercial airplane. Why do you think it would take 20 years?

the only help we can get from russia on commercial airplane is engine, they are not interest.......AVIC plan to get the airworthiness certificate of SF-A in 2016

Well, from what I understand, China needs help with engine.

China behind US, Russia by 50 years in commercial aircrafts. too scary to get into a China plane.

Congratulations...This is an excellent achievement. A radome is actually a difficult structure to design, engineer and manufacture. This is a structure whose material and SHAPING must be transparent to the aircraft's radar system...

Then it must be immune to all but the most severe atmospheric and environmental stresses.

Looks cute, like the nose of an animal. :azn:

who told you they are gona let you in, in the first place???:undecided:

good work china, keep it up, loosers are bound to get jealous:flame:

@ gambit>
nice to see something positive in your post
regarding chinas achievement:cheers:

adios

on the contrary.
I'm looking forward to get into a Indian-made plane.
I'll be happy to get into a Indian plane.
but I think it'll be a long wait.so I'll get into a China plane at first.:china:

C919 is focused on internal market and it will compete with other 190 seats planes. The engines and other parts maybe purchased from Europe and US it depends on the quality and price. So the first batch of the plane will be a 'made in China with the world' ones.

Do you have money to pay for the travel fair? :D

First manage the required money before approaching and then we will decide whether to let you get in or just say 'get lost'.
