Why burst his bubble?

Unlike some insecure members here, I never had a bubble to burst in the first place.

Of course for some people the facts are too disparaging to bear...

For this I recommend Burnol PLUS.

No, I meant to say 100% manufactured by HAL, straight from the raw materials to the final product.
100% HAL manufactured SU-30MKI crashed in 1st flight therefore manufacturing is canceled by HAL they are only assembling.

India doesn't have an indigenous production base for defense products as good as China's. For example, China makes its own submarines, destroyers and frigates. What about India? Does it make its own destroyers that match Type 052C? Does it has frigates that match Type 054? Does it has SSNs? Nope India only has SSBNs(armed with only MRBMs) and no SSNs now.

India is catching up fast and China will have to work harder maintain our edge.

There's no doubt which country has better engineers and scientists. After all according to Times Higher Education, Tsinghua's engineering school ranks 20th in the world and in total China has 6 universities in top 200, while rest of the BRIC combined together does not have even one university in the top 200.

The problem with China as always is structural. Unless we took more structural reforms and improve management practices, no amount of raw talents will get us to be a top aerospace power.

Take the WS-10 engine for example, there is a lot of allegations that the manufacturer (Shenyang Liming) got the contract through nepotism (with the head of AVIC), and the whole debacle about quality and reliability won't have happened if the contract went to a more qualified company.

China will always maintain a quantitative edge over India, while India will try its hardest to maintain a qualitative edge.

The problem is that China may surpass India in the quality aspect as well, judging my recent trends.

Oh well, we will always have Bollywood, which China can never hope to match.

Nice try joker. Only two Su-30s have crashed in the entire history of the IAF and both were in 2009. The first 100% indigenous Su-30MKI was produced by HAL earlier this year.

HAL: total indigenisation of Sukhoi fighter next year Security Sector Governance in South Asia

here is a section quoted from you source.
“Next year, HAL will achieve 100 per cent indigenisation of the Sukhoi aircraft — from the production of raw materials to the final plane assembly,”

can you identify some problems here? what about some critical component: CPUs and other hardwares. what about the source codes inside?

or maybe we could go to a higher level. MKI use: engines from Russia, radars from Israel, Fire control system from French etc. so do you think all these can be produced in India? if HAL is able to "produce" a heavy fighter, then why are they still struggling in building the small one LCA? LCA is still using foreign components.

oh, btw, you may take a look at my post there. that is the "supercomputer" in the manufacturing industry, only three countries is capable of producing them (above 40,000 ton level hydraulic forging press) at the monent and they are not for sell. but they are the prerequisite equipment to produce an engine.

China can build 4++ aircraft turbofan, don't try to think China doesn't possess quality.

Yes, they can all be produced in India.

Building something under license is not the same as designing something completely new from scratch - hence the problems with LCA's Kaveri engine despite years of experience in building Russian engines.

my point is do you have the equipment to build them?

Since when did the MKI use an Israeli radar?
