China - Japan dispute intensifies

Ah, I see. Actually, it is the right information which is required to win an argument, not breakfast. :)

In my opinion, arguing with someone on an internet forum is a lazy man's ideal source of entertainment because it does not involve much energy.

Having breakfast in one's stomach doesn't hurt, in fact I'm probably crankier without it. ;)

they both wouldn't fight. But china really needs to start getting less aggressive.

Couple that with the fact that China till this day remains North Korea's largest military partner and has allegedly facilitated North Korean arms exports reveals something.

China fails to stop illegal North Korean arms shipments - Washington Times

Care to give any evidence that China is North Kora's 'military partner'? Do you any evidence showing China holding a joint military exercises with North Koran or supporting them with military equipments in the last twenty years?

Also an allegation is an allegation precisely because it hasn't been proven. In the case of the Washington Times article, just because North Korea somehow managed to sneak a load of weapons pass our airspace doesn't mean we have facilitated their arms trade. North Korean soldiers even sneaked pass Chinese borders to rob Chinese banks in the past, have we also facilitated that?

China needs to pacify the ultra-nationalists and the Fenqing within our country by making nationalist moves.

Give them a chance to vent their frustrations, i.e. let them throw a few angry words at Japan etc.

Much better to have a few diplomatic spats, rather than a full blown incident.

Indian democracy allows nationalists to vent their anger through political parties like Shiv Sena. The Chinese system requires a different method.

It's not China but Japan who's getting more aggressive.

Fishermen has been arrested in the disputed area before but this is first time legal case is bought against a fisherman. Couple this with the fact Japanese sank a Taiwanese fishing boat near the disputed area in 2008, it's fairly clear who's becoming increasingly aggressive.

whether it's the first time or not, japan has done in legal way. With due respect, Japan has every right to arrest whoever comes in it's territory.

Again this is between china and japan and i don't wanna talk about Taiwanese fishing boat here. :)

So China can start arresting people In AP? Good to know.

The problem is that this is still disputed territory... Besides there is no reason to hold on to the fishermen like that after they've been arrested.

i am sorry, but if it's disuted territory, than where are the oil drilling operations done?

Why not? The dispute is between PRC(China), ROC(Taiwan) and Japan. If you want to discuss who's being aggressive of course you need to examine its actions in the disputed area against the other two claimants.

Like I've said in an earlier post, the gas/oil drilling is taking place within Chinese EEZ (and Japan is NOT disputing this).

Damn the BBC for trying to tie up two completely different events! :hitwall::hitwall::hitwall: The situation is already a mess without clueless journalists fanning the flame!

I just want to clarify that there is no direct dispute between the PRC and ROC over the Diaoyu Islands. Both the PRC and ROC agree that the islands should be administered by Taiwan, which is a part of China. :china::cheers:

If a war breaks out between China and Japan, who is going to profit?

Ask yourself. America.... yes. But apart from US, who else?

Its india.
