Back in the 70s, Black Power is a problem for the US (you have group like black panther and Malcome X and so on), you have GOT to know how to deal with these group. One way of doing it is for them to hook up on drugs so they create less of a problem for the government. And society back then don't really care about drug with the massive use of LSD or Cocaine and Novacaine and so on. I mean the entire 60-70 is about drug in America. But these group present a challenge on the US government, so get them hook on drug, problem solved.

Again, this is about power and control, by the 70s, CIA have known that these are going to be a perfect weapon for DOMESTIC or ABROAD. That's why CIA started working with Noriega and Escobar under the table in the 70s. That's what I said previously.

Well, the CIA learn to control off shore drug operation, and too much of domestic operation would give rise to unwanted exposure and that's why they don't really do much in the US anymore, but outside, they probably have network with every single drug cartel in the world, be it in South America or in Golden Triangle in Asia.

US drug problem most likely can only be solved by legalisation of drug, and that way the government can control the intake and distribution. I mean, if the problem is going to be out of hand anyway, you may as well take over. That's why there is a increase of methdone clinic and the increased rate of state government legalising recreational drug. Hard drug would be another problem.

Mexican hopes for being part of American plans for onshoring (as American companies look for alternative locations to China) will be reduced.

To get Mexico back in America’s good graces, they will be expected to push any potential migrants miles away from the American border, and be more harsh on Mexico’s own southern border. Mexican Army will probably also be forced to go on operations against the cartels under direct (but hush hush) American supervision. Basically increasing the risk of a Mexican civil war on all fronts.

Finally, the Republicans will use this to justify then need for a wall align the entire border, as well as a reduction in Mexicans being able to travel or immigrate to the US, slowing down the demographic shift. With Mexicans being able to move to the US as an economic pressure release valve, the pressure on the Mexican government will build.

It may not happen under Biden, but under the next president, likely to be a Republican due to the economic situation in the country, the push to finally get the wall built and the cartels (“bad hombres”) dealt with will likely become a campaign pledge, if the situation gets wrote along the border.
