China is turning the Mischef Reef into 'the heart' of the South China Sea

Really! HK! How many Taiwanese people support CCP? Heck, how many Taiwanese today want immediate reunification?

Also, young HKers don't even consider themselves Chinese.

At least be real!

Don't speak for young HKers. Soft-headed idiots among them, maybe. I'm young Taiwanese and you know my stances already. Only Taiwanese who hate China are stupid, blind children in fairy-tale land. Among those who are educated, they know at least to accept reality.

Prove ASEAN is pro-Chinese?

No doubt it has improved, yet there is still room.

Difinetely, a lot of rooms to improve. Confucian said "who is better than you, learn from him. "

I hope the countries all around the world show yours good aspects to Chinese, we will be glad learn from you.

Back to Topic.

Looks like too many high rise buidlings condensed into little space.
Needs more breathing room and green space.
More space for sport activities and less crowded places to find some rest besides your room.

Why is communism good?
Also, Communism in China was dead after the disaster of Great Leap Forward, and the Cultural Revolution.
China today goes completely against all principles of Communism, as espoused by Mao, Lenin, or Marx himself.

You are right. China is not communist. Communism exist in China only in name. Only briefly in the founding on PRC under Mao Zedong was China a communist nation but because of the failure of the policies under Mao Zedong, China have completely gotten rid of communism/western ideology.

What is China then? Today China is not ruled or controlled by any ideology but held together by a continuity of a civilization state with a strong centralized government based on Chinese principles.

Frankly, China is struck somewhere in between. While Communist ideology have ended, economic policies of communism have been thrown out, yet the conservatives still clutch to Communist ideology at least in name.

Again, we don't have money. Yet, that's what I am saying, you are conflating the two very different things.

For soft power, the first thing that you must do is to see within. China must first look at HK, and seriously ask itself, why are these people, who are cent percent Chinese, starting to identify less with China.

Even many groups of American born Chinese, or overseas Chinese don't identify with China.

Wrong. I'm Chinese. I was born and bred in Malaysia. And I repeat, I am Chinese.

Your pov is just your wet dream so keep it to youself.

Beijing's Manmade Islands in South China Sea Rattling Japan's Nerves

WORLD

Japan has expressed alarm over Beijing's construction of artificial islands in the disputed waters of the South China Sea; this is something that Tokyo has warned may destabilize the region.

Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani has warned that Beijing's land reclamation projects in the disputed waters around the Spratly archipelago of the South China Sea may lead to the destabilization of the region; he urged all those nations which are involved in the issue to behave responsibly.

Earlier this month, US defense officials claimed that China had allegedly put two large artillery vehicles on one of its artificial islands in the South China Sea; no photos were released in support of the allegations.

Carter has, meanwhile, warned that aside from China, other countries which are implementing smaller land reclamation projects in the South China Sea should halt their activity.

Its real name is called Chinese Ruling Party aka Authoritarian State Capitalism (left-wing nationalism) with mercantilism, not Chinese Communist Party.

The current system in PRC is the rebirth of traditional "Imperial examination". Now you know what the Chinese leaders meant by "Socialism with Chinese characteristics".

Non-Chinese speakers don't know the difference between Zhongguo and Zhonghua, they use a single word Chinese to represent Zhongguoren and Zhonghuaminzu, Huaren. I don't blame them for their shortage of vocabulary.
@Bussard Ramjet Don't mix identity to Zhonghuarenmingongheguo Zhonghuaminguo and Zhonghuaminzu.

I very much know the difference, between Huaren, Zhongguoren, but in the absence of an alternative, I had to use Chinese.

Also, I agree Malaysia is one of the places where the local Chinese have overwhlemingly positive views on China the state, but in general overseas Chinese communities, especially the Chinese who were born abroad, this isn't necessarily the case.

And the biggest issue is again, HK and Taiwan.
It is a fact that a majority of Taiwanese by all studies don't consider themselves necessarily as Chinese. And even more have very negative view of China.

We should also welcome Vietnamese tourists!!

Vietnamese civilians are more than welcome to enjoy the benefits of China's island genesis program. China has also made it clear that it will allow other nations' navies, fishing boats ETC. to take advantage of the facilities there.

Building these islands, China has two major things in mind: Common development and common security.

The development and security (especially security) of the region shall not be left to the hands of an unwanted foreign power that intentionally incites hatred and militarizes inter-Asian relations.
