What's new

‘China is the best implementer of Catholic social doctrine,’ says Vatican bishop.

I am pretty sure that drug use is still a problem in China.

That said, I think the Vatican might recognize mainland China within two years. This is just a part of their conciliatory gesture.

the vatican want to sent their pedophile bishop to China, be aware with them.

No. The xxxxxx is saying China is a great place to brainwash more Chinese into believing Jesus' mother thus a good place to establish Catholic religion. . Religion need more people to keep functioning and to make money off the gullible folks.
Odd, I didn't get that message at all. Rather, the message is that China doesn't need Catholicism as much as other nations may and that Catholics themselves have a lot to learn from China. Remember, the intended audience is Western, not Chinese. And it cannot have escaped the Church's notice that heavily Catholic countries seem to have more problems with persistent poverty and corruption than less-Catholic countries do.

The Catholic church is a full on multinational state-corporate entity utilising a franchise model, religion/spirituality is secondary. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, I have interviewed a few hedge fund managers and those in private equity who have dealt with the Vatican Investment Fund. They are one of the biggest investment funds in the world that rivals many sovereign wealth funds. Exact asset count is a mystery as their assets are segregated and use proxy funds but definitely in the hundreds of billions.

Imagine, in the year 500 the Vatican stored one once of gold worth 1000 unit of whatever currency at a bank in Italy at an annual interest rate of 5 % and did nothing but to reinvest its interest into the same bank account for 1500 years.

In the year 2000 that account would be worth 1,546,318,920,731,992,453,545,984.00 unit of that currency.

At a 3 % interest rate, it's still multiple times more than the GDP of the world combined: 6,874,240,231,169,627.00 unit.

With its wealth, the catholic church could have eliminated hunger, poverty, illiteracy in this world many times ... but alas.
