'China did not expect India to give up so easily in 1962'

Why didn't the chinese kept Aruchal/S.Tibet like they kept aksai chin. And since they gave it back why are they demanding it
now?

China just wanted to keep Aksai Chin and were willing to give up AP by that time. But Nehru wanted both, plus the Tibet issue, Mao was pissed and just wanted to make a political statement ("Teaching Nehru a lesson"). The goal was not to solve border issues through the war, which would've involved Soviet and USA.

Taiwan is also important but you just couldn't take it. right?

Taiwanese are our blood brothers. We want a peaceful reunification with them.

China fought against both superpowers in the last half century. We fought with the USA + 16 of her allies during the Korean War, and forced them to retreat completely out of North Korea, and it has remained that way for the next half century. Then we also fought the USSR during the Sino-Soviet split.

We also crushed your own India easily in 1962.

Taiwan is a different matter. Unless you think that Taiwan is much more powerful than India, the USA and the USSR?

And Mind I remind you the USSR Doesn't exist only China :china:

We overrun them in South Tibet and took all of it however due to logistics and supply issues we had to give it up but I assure you in the future we will get it back.

I think China should have kept arunchal since you guys won it in Battle. And the people there look more like tibetans than
Indians.
And the area would have also given you guys direct border with almost all of Indian NE states.

Mao always had this romantic ideology that China should never be on the aggressive side and should only fight "defensive" wars. So all wars China fought between 1949 and 1979 were marked as "Self-defense and Anti-attack". Mao wanted to be the third world leader by showing that China doesn't want to be the imperial force. That's why after Sino-India war, China polished all capatured Indian weapons and returned them to India, as shown by pictures posted by "Hu Songshan". China also treated Indian POW with great respect (Some Indian officials had free tours in China before returning to India). To me, it is just kind of naive, people don't remember these gestures after the bitter fight.

And Mind I remind you the USSR Doesn't exist only China :china:

China has lasted for several thousand years, while the USSR only lasted from 1922–1991. The USSR was one of the shortest-lived nations in all of history.

China has lasted so long that all of us share a common identity, even though we live thousands of miles apart and speak many different dialects.

Even Chinese who left China several hundred years ago to live in Malaysia and Indonesia, they still remember that they are Chinese, and they still speak their dialects.

It was foolish of the USSR to think they could outlast us. :azn:

The answer is simple,China never got Arunachal for we had never a settlement there.

I think China should have kept arunchal since you guys won it in Battle. And the people there look more like tibetans than Indians.

It's natural to think about Indian NE states have some relation with China. But the reality is that people with different looking respond in their security just like that in China's Xinjiang.

Good pics for propaganda purposes..

But it does not hide the truth of hundreds of Indian soldiers and people u massacred when they surrendered...

Do you have proof of this? When I was in college I had 3 months military trainings in the army branch that is involved in the Sino-India conflict. I was told that Premier Zhou Enlai directly instructed to be aware of different Indian religions when giving food to POWs. We were also told a lot of stories and saw pictures of the conflict. I never heard of massacres you mentioned. Propaganda and communism lectures maybe, but what purposes it served to massacre hundreds and respect others? At that time, China was enemy of both USA and Soviet, so no one would buy Chinese propaganda anyway. The main goal from Mao I think is to show that it is Nehru China is against, not Indian people.

I understand your emotion, but do you have reliable Chinese war crime against Indian POWs?
