I thought India was the "biggest democracy in the world"? Why not stand with your democratic brothers in the ROC instead of with the PRC?

However Indian democracy is diplomatically very shrewd and mature that it will maintain good relations with both PRC and ROC .... Remember we are one of the very few countries to have friendly relations with both blocks during the cold war.

the news makes good business sense since Taipei Computer Association (TCA) has begun recruiting employees and students (TCA collaborates with TW/IN universities). the best response has come from Chennai, their last involvement was at the July Jumbo Fair @ Chennai Trade Center. It went rather well.

If India had allow Taiwan to open up a consulate, than India has recognize Taiwan. US allows only Taiwanese trade offices, not consulates. But they are in affect the same thing.

Two strong anti PRC messages from India , First being extension of oil exploration in East sea for another 2 years and now allowing opening of Taiwan's consulate in India ....

Its always been two china in the past 60+ yrs .... Until there is some kind of unification which seems very unlikely ... its going to remain that way whether the world accepts it or not ... truth is PRC does not control ROC

So what is the indian game here? China allows Lasha for indian consulate, india use it as foothold for spreading unrest, Otherwise India will allow Taiwan to open consulate and tacitly question one China policy. Either way China loose, what a blackmailing gig indians hatched? Can China be that soft in not understanding indian ploy or give in to indian blackmail?
