No I haven't see the movie but I guess you probably Vietnam meant wasn't exactly innocent either in the war.

The fact of the matter is all wars are dirty and Vietnam is on the virtue high round here because she was defending for the survivals of her people and her sovereignty. Anything goes for her.

You know about Mai Lai? That was the worst atrocity by far an army can commit against civilians. How ironic the US and the west claim to be 'peace loving nations'.

The old enemy run away, USA paid for mine and orange agent clearance and his ally Japan, Newzewland, Australia ... paid for reconstruction for infrastructure of Vietnam.
But chinese backed Khmer Rouge to invaded Vietnam and themselves brutally killed over 100,000 innocent Vietnamese 1979, but dirty enemy didn't say apologize to Vietnamese people. It's differences between USA with his ally and China.

To my friends in ASEAN, I want to say that the West today has a higher sense of morality than either Chinese or Indians. May be this will change with time, when Chinese and Indians develop their own human resources which will improve the quality of their morals and thought process. But as of now, this is the situation we have and it may remain true for at least a few more decades. So in order to balance the threat from China, I would recommend the West, Japan and Korea and would advise against including India, for strategic and military alliances. At the same time, building economic and trade relations, road, railway and land routes with China and India should go on full swing, which will make this whole region prosperous. But even in this trade, I would recommend giving preference to strategic allies, as it does not help to strengthen strategic enemies while neglecting allies.

That's why Cambodians hate you and will gladly allow China to transport PLA soldiers to attack directly against Ho Chi Min City (together with simultaneous attack on Hanoi). Like I said, post me a third party source that says PLA killed 100,000 Vietnamese civilians in 1979. Can you do it?
