China bringing Pakistan, Iran closer

ISLAMABAD - China is playing a key role in bringing Pakistan and Iran closer in the interest of peace and security in the region, sources said yesterday.

The sources privy to the efforts said Tehran had requested Beijing to play the role of a bridge in bringing Pakistan closer to Iran.

They said the last week’s visit of National Security Adviser General (r) Naseer Khan Janjua to Tehran set a very clear direction for the promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.

The national security adviser’s visit to Iran was in response to the invitation of the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, the sources said, adding Beijing did play an important role in bringing the two neighbours closer.

Lt-Gen (r) Janjua, according to the sources, had very fruitful meetings with his Iranian counterpart as well as the interior minister and discussed a number of issues relating to the security.

A joint statement issued after their meetings suggests that both Tehran and Islamabad have resolved to evolve an institutional mechanism, including establishment of a joint commission to oversee border security.

Both the sides emphasised the need for unity of the Muslim Ummah and called for early resolution of differences between them. They also welcomed the recent reciprocal visits by political, economic and military officials.

The two sides discussed the issues of mutual interest ranging from bilateral relations to fighting against terrorism and establishment of peace and security in the region. Both the countries discussed counter-terrorism efforts for establishment of peace and security in the region.

If we dont play a destabilising role against each other then there is great potential for trade between us. Pakistan has not gotten involved in any BS sectarian venture against Iran and Iran needs to reciprocate that by not giving space to our enemies.

Chinese are doing a lot but as long as Iran is under mulla's rule, they will keep trying to export their revolution into Pakistan.
For Muslim world it is very difficult to develop good relations with Iran, unless they accept these mullas their spiritual leaders and accept their so called revolution. Their target is only Muslim world.

For development and prosperity there must be peace not only within a country but also in the neigbourhood.

China has always given positive and constructive advice to Pak.

Apart from troubles in Afgh and their export of destructive elements to PK, there is no problem with PKs western borders.

China wants to have a very peaceful environment for not only Chinese development but also the development of SCO countries.

Iran is a regional power same as PK.

If there is harmony between these two countries...then development and economic progress will accelerate.

A win-win-win solution for China, Pak and Iran. There must be a broader and deeper economic integeratioin between Iran and PK. China will welcome such steps.

Ok its seems hard for you to understand what i ment,,,,Pakistan is Irans neighbour ,there can be 100 differences but that should not be a reason for having good relations with them..when you need someone else in between to improve the relations that means things are very bad. Now a days anything to do with Pakistan seems to go through china,which looks bad in the long run for Pakistan.
