That is inevitable anyway. There is no other part of the world more important to China than the Muslim world, in terms of strategic location, resources, future growth potential, and diplomatic alignment.
Pakistan and Bangladesh are the perfect gateway, for us to one day make a major alignment with the Muslim world.
I believe Western analysts like to refer to this as the "Sino-Islamic connection" (Clash of civilizations). They hype it up as some sort of threat, but for the developing world, it is an enormous opportunity.
Let us add in the oil-rich Gulf Kingdoms and the rest of the Arab world who will start aligning towards the Chinese as China matches US power.
Chinese technology(both civilian and military) combined with Muslim strategic(Gibraltar Straight, Suez Canal and Malacca Straights) locations, oil and gas will make for a winning team.
