China-Australia relations: Scott Morrison’s speech ‘confusing’ but ‘well-crafted’, offers hope for thawing ties

Lol.. you are delusion. Australia is so tough and why morrison start to praise China and try firefighting measures? Obvious the economy sanction of China bites.

Every country need grow and cannot stagnant. Australia used to be fine without China is donkey decades ago. If it need to stay ahead. It need big market like China to sustain it's growth.

Instead of name calling - do your research Mr. Beast
only 20% of Aussie GDP is from export of which China's contribution in 2019 is 38% - so China is not going to devastate Australia
Despite your protestations and disbelief - it translates to roughly 7% of Aussie GDP. Sure it will pinch but its not going to destroy Australia.

Get it!

The one don't get it is you. Why morrison is so desperate that he changes his tone, praising China of lifting million out of poverty? Since it's only 20percent insignificant according to you?

Stop deluding yourself.

He's getting a lot of complaints from the business community who are obviously upset that their business is getting hurt.

Overall though even if China stopped buying anything from Australia, it's not going to crash their economy. It'll just hurt their revenues somewhat but they will survive. Same for China, they will just get different suppliers.

The Australian public will easily accept the loss of 7% of their annual income represented by exports to China.
Will you not survive a 7% cut in your income? Is it really a hardship?

Chinese stupidity is actually strengthening public support on a tougher stance against China,
See below poll, 82% of the respondents want to sanction China.

Morrison's positive statement on Chinese poverty alleviation shouldn't be seen as an Aussie capitulation.
It is most likely his way of appeasing special interest groups such as the wine industry,
His stance on China is unlikely to soften - due to anti-China sentiments, it's political suicide to do so at this time.

I never delude myself, I repeatedly provided facts to backup my point of view.
But all you have in response is indignant disbelief.

I agree with everything you said except the fact that you are attributing it to "Chinese stupidity".

How would the US react to a country that constantly bashed it and demonized it for years on end? You think the American public would just be cool with it?

Same thing goes for China. I know that the West seems to think it is perfect and are entitled to bash other cultures and not expect any push back but it's only natural that after years of getting nothing but hostility from a country that they have done literally nothing to except make wealthier, that a lot of anger would have built up because of it.

So that's why I think decoupling is the best in this situation.

The image published by the Chinese Foreign Ministry depicting an Australian solider beheading an Afghan child is something you expect from Iran or Venezuela - not China.
Worst China got the context completely and horribly wrong by depicting the first act of sacrifice in that image.

Sure it is inflammatory but the Australian media and government has been virulently anti-China for a very long time. We are talking years. What do you expect? Hate begets hate. This is where I just don't get the Anglo mentality, it's like there is some entitlement to always being the one to criticize and lecture but the second the person you are incessantly attacking snaps back, all hell breaks loose. It honestly reminds me of the behavior of some crazy shit talking chickenhead hood rat chick to be honest.

I went through multiple youtube videos and articles and I've never seen soooo much lying, gaslighting, whataboutism in my life.

These Caucasian Australians are not angered by their Caucasian soldier's war crimes. They are angered that the Chinese condemned their sadistic acts of racist white supremacist brutality.

These Caucasians love to lie to everyone about how "it's an isolated incident" or "just bad apples". That's a lie.

These comments by thousands of Caucasian prove that you are dealing with a nation of unrepentant Caucasian supporters of Caucasian war criminals. Judging by the silent support or vicious attacks against the Chinese by the Caucasian members of other western nations, I think it's safe to say this white racist hate and white fragility is a troubling phenomenon that is very widespread.

The whites have been brainwashed of white supremacy in their education system which is why white supremacy carries on generation after generation for centuries. It’s indoctrination of white supremacy by the white education system.

All whites have the white supremacy mentality, some are better than others at covering up that white supremacy from the public.

This is only partly true. there is individual agency. These people are CHOOSING to ignore their crimes while vilifying others for far lesser offenses, many of which are often fabricated by Caucasian propagandists.

Invasion and destruction of multiple Muslims nations = Caucasian silence or lies like "we have noble intentions"

China trying to de-radicalized CIA trained Uyghurs = Caucasians screaming about evil CCP killing trillions of Muslims every minute.

That choice has nothing to do with propaganda but their inherent racist hate.

When Whites speak with an air of authority and judgment, Indians consider it the natural order of things. When Chinese snap back, it's considered "arrogance".
how can u assume it as u r not an indian neither a white spokesperson or a specialist in how indians think. ur presumption is as wrong as ur inference......ask your pakistani brothers the meaning of "begaani shaadi mein abdulla diwana" is.....and u will know.
TBH, I think China should just permanently decouple from Australia's economy.

TBH....good for them.

The knock on effect would be substantial as all those unemployed will also lose demand for Australian services and products.

In addition, the cutoff of imports from China would be devastating for Australia, as China represents the majority of world industry for pretty much everything Australia imports except oil and cars. China is also Australia's largest import partner.

China can also enact secondary sanctions where companies dealing with Australia will face limitations in China. The pretext for these secondary sanctions will be based on national security, to prevent resources and technology from reaching war criminals in Australia. No one is going to pick the Australian market over the Chinese one.

Well then why has none of this already happened? Other than frustrated rants from the Chinese foreign ministry and a token tariff on meat and wine there isn't any real consequence for Australia.
As a matter of fact China's imports from Australia has increased in the last quarter despite tariffs.

now the game has changed, since Australia has gone all in on support of war criminals.

right now it's just like how Trump keeps saying he's gonna be tough on China because of this and that and yet the trade deficit with China is bigger than ever. The difference is, China actually doesn't need Australia the way the US need China because resources are easily replacable by alternative suppliers, while industry isn't. resources don't require IP or innovation, just digging things out of the ground.
