China advised to get out of civilian airplane business | You serious?

Keep chugging away and break the airplane oligopoly. In the end it will be better for the world.

CCP is smart to restrict her airspace for commercial flight.
Virtually forcing most of its citizen to take the rail option unless its very long distance flight like Beijing to urumuqi. This is to prevent most domestic airliner from buying too much foreign plane. Once comac919 is operational, you can bet most of China airspace are available and domestic airline will have a brisk business.

The report seems to say that China should either reform its intellectual property protections to protect foreigners or steal more technology from foreigners if it wants to build a viable civilian aircraft industry.

There doesn't seem to be any sense that China could develop the necessary technology itself; yet China today has far more engineers than the U.S., and because it's a state priority, more access to ready capital. It may be very expensive to accomplish but I think China can become as successful in this market as Vickers and de Havilland have been.

lol, do you think that the NSA is running by a bunch of morons to allow the crucial datas getting stolen by the foreign nations?

We started much later, so we are trying to catch up and it doesn't mean that the foreigners should have a free pass by shittalking about China's hardwork.

Sure. China is so bad that FDI keep pouring in. Anyone who think America or the west would share its latest tech with China is a delusional fool even if Chinese changed the laws regarding intellecutal property rights.

Even Boeing outsources parts for it's 787 to myriads of companies around the world.

It's not like all the tech is kept behind locked doors.

Boeing Has a New 787 Dreamliner Headache With Wing Cracks - Businessweek

Boeing does it because of cost benefits and non tecnical assembly for the most part. China does not need to do that as they have the manpower and the factories to do it all domestically.

If one of these myriads of companies go on strike, it delays everything for Boeing. Corporate america is too greedy. China is smart. Producing almost everything at home creates jobs, improves logistics and technical experience.

Actually it is greed but not for the reasons you think. If Boeing agrees to outsource part of a plane to some country then when that country wants to buy planes Boeing has more appeal.

The 787 was a test for outsourcing to gain appeal. It caused numerous delays and the costs went up not down.

The F35 is another plane they are trying to do this with...see how it's costs have skyrocketed.

Let me be one of the first to board this passenger plane when it is ready to roll out for service..

With Chinese commercial planes rolling off the production line from the start of the next decade, then the world just becomes a better place.

They fear China will shove them out of this industry. They will lose money, because currently China is the biggest buyer of commercial planes of Boeing and Airbus.
