Not necessarily......I can give a list of 10s of officers who went to foreign military academies As cadets, but didn't even make it past the rank of Col. Some not even past Maj.

Going to a foreign military academy or for that matter doing a foreign staff course guarantees nothing......specially for a cadet as to make it to the rank of a Gen. He's looking at a service of 25-30 years and that's a very long time.

yes its not necessary but its an indication that op performing cadets who are in the top tier and hold positions in the PMA rise up to become successful officers.. rising to become a star officer is one such achievement.. what you are pointing at are the exceptional cases and exceptional circumstances.

Good riddance !!! Thank god that jerk "Kayani" is gone, he brought nothing to Pakistan beside death and destruction and almost an international isolation. These bloody highly overrated Generals are a bane and curse on the country.

its a general remark I wasn't expecting an anal bleaching of a passing comment which is made by the serving officers themselves and specially when the track history of some highly celebrated officers is traced back to PMA days which is the stepping stone in making a good officer.

RAWALPINDI: Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi on Friday called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at General Headquarters today, ARY News reported.

According to spokesman of Pakistan Army, during the meeting Wang Yi, praising significant and noticeable successes and progress of operation Zarb-e-Azb, honored Pakistan Army for their sacrifices to maintain peace and stability in the region.

The two dignitaries discussed matters pertaining to regional security and enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation between both countries.

It is pertinent to mention that the meeting was followed by roundtable delegation level discussion which included senior officials from both sides.

Earlier on arrival at General Headquarters, Foreign Minister of China laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhda and paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan Army.
