Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was invited by Saudi Crown Prince

Your like that fly that keeps buzzing around your face and ears. You want to slap it but it won't stop. Finally it stops on your sofa. Now you want to slap the freakin thing but you don't bother because it will leave behind a shitstain on your fancy sofa. So you ignore the darned thing and dismiss as a useless irritant.

Nice

Something is cooking. Slap of shah mehmood qureshi's face. Army will make govern foreign policy in Pakistan.
RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was invited by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman for a meeting proceeded by dinner, on Tuesday night.

As per the official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was felicitated by the Crown Prince on his completion of Hajj.

Furthermore, the two also went into discourse over the jointly shared matter of the region’s safekeeping with His Highness hoping for Pakistan’s success in facing the present challenges expressed thoughts of robust positivity.

He also went on to felicitate the newly elected federal administration while extending his good wishes.

The statement also added that the COAS General Bajwa had expressed gratitude for the well wishes and encouragement the Crown Prince had conveyed for Pakistan.

. . . . .
Army needs to stop meeting foreign politicans.
Why this is a good move by COAS. Pakistan and USA are at odds and Saudis are critical to USA calm and buy time for us. COAS was invited by him on dinner you cannot reject an invitation. It is Saudi crown Prince and we have good relations with the country.

Just imagine how many black indian asses are burning over this. Just turn on Zee News. You’ll know right away that this is a really good move by Lion Bajwa. Pakistan will benefit greatly from this.

Appreciate that but need to ensure 1 channel of communication to avoid confusion with decision making.

Unless Bajwa and IK are in sync and have decided policy before.

Pakistan has no 2 policies we have one policy that Imran Khan gave. We are going to move forward relations with both Iran and Saudis. They don't like it, it is their problem not ours. COAS visited Iran and he visited Saudis Pakistani foreign policy is not sectarian. It is for mutual benefits.

This is called "grooming". Probably offered him some sinecure job after retirement. This is how Arabs buy Pakistan at the cheap by simply 'purchasing' our elite. This saves them doing anything substantive for Pakistan. The real benefits are handed to India etc
Somehow, I feel there is no weight in your comment at all as Bajwa is a different type of soldier but importantly the situation is very different in Pakistan. The power in Pakistan is now rests in the hands of the civilian govt. It was the case even with the previous administration but it had an agenda to create some friction with the army so from time to time it had to please COAS as a counter balance.

But now the centre of gravity lies squarely with civilian admin of Imran Khan who won't create any friction with any institution but at the same time won't accept any dictation from anyone either and I think the GCC states already know it very clearly and that why GCC PDF members like @Khafee were overtly against Imran Khan did not want to see him in power. However now they have to come to terms with the change in Pakistan and as per my information civilian and military leadership are acting like a one machine. So now they can't buy an individual. Now KSA has to do something substantive for Pakistan.

You got a point here. You know I am not against Arabs. All I want is Pakistan to have institutional relationships. I mean state to state legal treaties. Rather than buying few of our elite and then doling a billion dollars here and a oil subsidy there. That might be fine for Raheel, Nawaz and few more who get dined when they visit these countries but it is no good for you, me and millions of ordinary Pakistani's.

Look Sweden is member of EU. It is a rich country. Ditto Germany, France. Poland is poor by comparsion. The Swedish government does not go and buy out the Polish chief of staff or give Polish PM a villa as a refuge in Stockholm and ask Polish Army services whenever it chooses to. And doles out a billion dollars now and then to keep Poland acting like servile dog at it's beck and call when needed.

But then when it needs labour it invites millions of Indians to Sweden resulting in India earning $10s of billions in remittances which keep on pouring in year after year. And then when Poland complains the Swedes say the Indian workers are cheaper and better. No.

Instead non of this "brother" garbage. Sweden by legal treaty as EU member allows all the privilages to Poland. Which means as matter of right $ billions as grants, open access to Polish migrants to Sweden as matter of legal right. Meantime Indian workers can be 10 times cheaper, 10 times harder workers but they don't get that privilage. Only Poles get that legal right.

This is what I would want for Pakistan with KSA/GCC. If this legal treaty giving Pakistan milirary/economic rights was in place then yes if half of Pakistan Army was deployed in GCC/KSA that would fine.

Well your Poland-Sweden example is not valid since both countries are part of Eu and both have to follow the same set of rules after signing up as EU members so it is not good or bad of Sweden to grant all privileges to Poland, it just has to if this was not the case, UK won't need BREXIT.

While Pakistan and KSA are not part of any such organisation. However govt of Pakistan under Imran Khan will do everything possible to help the common Pakistanis. That is why Prime Minister in his first speech said that he will order the MOFA to help Pakistani imprisoned in foreign countries without sound legal process and most of them are in GCC especially KSA so this just one example. Similarly he also said that embassies has to stay in contact with overseas Pakistanis in their respective jurisdiction and help them. I never heard any such things from any previous prime minister or president. I'm sure within a few years the number of countries granting visa free entry or visa on arrival to Pakistanis will go up manifold.
By the way, MBS is a different person. He thinks in a different and he is ready to engage with Imran Khan in a new way. That is why he contact Imran Khan at least 4 times..which more than any other country, second is China and then UK. So I won't be surprised if Imran Khan visits KSA on his first visit as PM.
