The Changchun airshow has kicked off in the capital of Jilin province in northeast China. Performing teams from China's air force have given audiences an exciting show with some of its most advanced aircraft.

China's air force sent three of its top air performing teams including the famous BAYI team to the air show. Together with serval other teams from the US and Russia, Bayi is one of the few air performing teams in the world that uses jet aircraft.

The aircraft used by the Bayi team include the third generation fighter, the "J-10". This model was adopted by China's air force in 2006 and has received wide compliments for its versatility.

it would have been great if PAF had been participating in the show, flying perhaps the JFT Blk-II!
here is the video news:

Two new Chinese aerobatic teams were formed.
The People's Liberation Army Air Force announced on August 25, the formation of two aerobatic demonstration teams, which will make their debuts next month at Changchun Air Show, Northeast China. These new teams named Flying Wings (Tianzhiyi) and Red Eagles (Hongying). The Flying Wings display team formed at Aviation University of the Air Force will fly with six prop- engine Nanchang CJ-6 planes. The Red Eagles team formed at No 3 Aviation College of the People's Liberation Army will fly five Hongdu K-8 jet training airplanes. Both planes produced in China, which are equipped with smoke generators.

Both teams will complete the August First Air Demonstration Team at all air shows held in China and abroad. In difference with August 1st, where the pilots are regular fighters, in the new teams they will be first class flying instructors.

ahem, ahem, third generation?

ahem, ahem, third generation?

The Chinese method of fighter generation classification is different. We don't make distinctions between the second and third generations (Western) and as a result Fourth generation jets are referred to as "Third generation jets". The F-16 and Su-27 are also called "third generation fighters" in China.

oh, it was the chinese one, i thought it was the western 3rd generation.
