‘Chand Taara’ Island to be built in Gwadar

. .
I'd rather spend 10 Billion dollars on rest of the Baluchistan for development and basic facilities .
You are right. But you have to. Diffrenciate between government spending and investment. If an investor want to invest and then sell the real state then we'll and good. Government would hand out its tender wouldn't built it.

.
Dubai has much unoccupied remote land, they tried to build many huge projects such as international city, academic city, silicon valley, but none of them attracted investors as much as in palm jumeirah

My post said BEACHFRONT. Inland does not count for much but beachfront is very desirable. You have hundreds of kilometers of it.

It's also very rural though. I think other than Karachi, Gwadar will be our only coastal city, which in itself is nuts. We have nearly 1000km of coast, but only have small towns along it.

Seems a risky venture, but who wants to buy beachfront property in a sleepy fishing town?

Maybe ancient vedics developed teleporters along with their warp travel, but the rest of the world cant doesnt have that.

All of the beachfront in proximity to Gwadar is taken, and its idiotic to just sell beachfront property in the middle of nowhere.

.
You build islands where real estate is at a premium.Where each square yard costs a vast amount of money , as in UAE and Qatar beachfront. That indicates a need for EXPENSIVE reclamation and island formation. In Baluchistan that is clearly not the case. You have millions of acres totally unoccupied and you would then spend billions creating artificial islands

Does Pakistan posses even a drop of common sense or is its desire to go bankrupt in the quickest possible time frame a Guinness record its aiming for.

For your understanding Govt of Pakistan is only allocating the area for the project development where rest of the money will be invested by private company as already mentioned. Cheers.

Pakistan’s first man-made Island is to be built in Gwadar at a cost of over $10 Billion. The ‘Chaand Taara’ shaped islands representing Pakistan’s flags moon and star will form the cities of the Central Business District.

Located the Marine Drive and stretching towards Zero Point on the Coastal Highway, the Central Business District is to include a state of the art amusement park, Art & Culture Museum, Grand Theatre, Concert Hall, International Expo Centre, 5* Hotels & Resorts, Multiple Shopping Malls and Waterfront Walk and Shopping Promenade to name a few.

The mega-development which will be built around the Gwadar Tower expected to be Pakistan’s tallest building has been detailed in the Gwadar Smart City Masterplan. The 75-page detailed report which has been under development by the China Communications Construction Company a Chinese state-owned enterprise with assets of over $132 Billion and the Government of Pakistan as a joint-venture project.

The 75-page master plan document, prepared by Chinese state-owned company China Communications Construction Company in conjunction with Pakistan’s Minister of Planning, Development & Reform and Gwadar Development Authority and shared with this reporter, chalks out an elaborate road map and plan on how Gwadar is to become the trade and economic hub of South Asia with a GDP per capita of $15,000 – 10 times that of Pakistan’s average.

Just another wet dream being sold to naive gullible people for their investment money .

Before dreaming of fancy islands Dubai style... Let's get the basics like water, electricity, food, health and education to going in Gwadar first.

People in Gwadar are running around starving and in poverty and they are selling illusions to fool people???

.
I went to Gwadar few years ago and I would not invest even one paisa there at this time. Only land speculators are selling infertile hilly areas to unsuspecting investors. Gwadar needs another 10 years of government investment in infrastructure to make it attractive for investment.

.
But why copying Dubai? If you are building something new, build it with originality.

.
Everyone is saying the govt is not putting money in it but the article says 'Government of Pakistan as a joint-venture project.'

.
The star Island (Chaand Taara Island) was an idea that was eventually dropped and is not part of the Gwadar Matser Plan.

Yhe news is eventually just a rumour. This was confirmed by the Director General Gwadar Development Authority GDA.

.
Looks like a star fine, name it that, but there is no crescent and trying to make a crescent out of it and justify it will look stupid.
Stick to Taara island something.

As long as the taxpayer isn't paying for it.

Then who should?
Government spends tax payers money to generate more revenue. What else do you want spend on national infrastructure?

Rather invest this amount on developing Reko Diq which will pay us dividends over the next century.

There is a world of difference between national infrastructure and a vanity project. We have a country without adequate roads, railways, drains, gutters, clean water, dams, canals, reservoirs, hospitals, schools (60% don't have a toilet). The government should spend on this.

The vanity Islands should be left with private companies.
