What's new

Chabahar port to be opened next month!

Why should it match? With chabahar...we'll get precious minerals from Afghanistan
and Iran, and export Indian goods through Afghanistan to central asia. Win win for three countries!!
And gives IN a reason to patrol these waters close to Pakistan!!
@Erl So iran will allow the Indian Navy ships to move in area closer to pakistan ?

Yes...why will we have concern? It's near your EEZ you should be worried!!
Good to know this..

Well this is an economical cooperation with India. They will have the permission of using this port to transfer their commercial goods to Afghanistan and central Asia. In addition there is a railroad being biult inthe same path Chabahar-Afghanistan which India is the main investor of. They will be able to use that railroad for free for almost 5 years until fulfilling their investment in that path.
It's all about economical ties.

Iran's naval fleet docks at Karachi for joint exercises ahead of 'Aman 17'
27th September 2016 | DAWN.COM
KARACHI: Iranian naval fleet docked at the Karachi port on Tuesday on a three-day visit to hold discussions on the regional political situation and matters of mutual interest, said a statement issued by Pakistan Navy.

Four Iranian Naval Ships — Lavan, Konarak, Falakhen and Khanjar — were received by the senior officials of Pakistan Navy and Iranian diplomats at the docks, the statement added.

"During the visit, the naval forces of both the countries will undertake joint drills in the Pakistani waters for three days."

Iranian naval vessels are on visit to Pakistan for the joint drills ahead of ‘Aman-17’ exercise, which the Pakistan Navy will host early next year.

Operational training activities and sports activities are also planned, said the statement by Pakistan Navy.

The visit of Iranian fleet is expected to promote peace and security in the region and enhance maritime collaboration between the two brotherly Islamic countries, read the statement.

The naval forces of Russia, China, Turkey and Iran are expected to participate in the annual international naval exercise 'Aman-17' next year.

The objective of the exercise is to exchange naval experiences and improve regional security.

This Chabahar port is no match for Gwadar. lol. :disagree:

China needs Gwadar though.

LOL so india is unable to fund cha-cha -bahar this is what you are saying

So when Chinese Navy will move around gawadar India will have no concern i believe..As you will be doing the same

Chabahar is needed to break Gawadar's monopoly to CIS and Afghanistan, and to keep an eye on the PLAAN by India.

Are you that naive to make commercial and defence policies of a country by taking the opinion of individual citizens on a internet forum ?
Indian will sure say he has right to protect his commercial interest and investment at chahbahar, and iranian will sure deny it to keep a pakistani in loop for a while.

If you want a real answer look around the world how countries protest their commercial interest, why go far you could take a clue from chinese in gwadar. Or if not, you could just wait and watch for few years to get answers.

Btw, do you think indian navy has never visited iran ? Just google and you will get your answer.

INSHALLAH IRAN and INDIA will stand and defend together in every conflict..I am happy kudos to India and Iran:enjoy:..
Indian will sure say..Ok so you are stating Indian official policy ..I was just taking an opinion of other members ?Is there any issue in that ?

I still don't understand why Pakistanis get so annoyed with Chahbahar and compare it to Gwadhar. They can never be compared to one another, both fulfill different needs and target different regions in terms of trade, unlike Chahbahar, Gwadhar is more than just a port, it has tied and taken Pak-Sino ties into another stratosphere.

Successive Pakistani parties have treated Iran with contempt, they have every right to look elsewhere. I hope India builds the port, follows through with their claim of making it operational, it'll help bring prosperity to the S&B region and most importantly cause Pakistan to step up its diplomatic ties with Iran.

That port has it's own plans and of course will be in a competition with Gwadar. We want partners when you sided with monarchs we will find other partners for our economical plans.
