In the past thirteen years, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States, have witnessed events which have defined, reaffirmed, improved and on rare occasions hurt our bi-lateral and tri-lateral relations. Throughout all these events, whether they were relief efforts, anti-terrorism operations or security trainings, what has motivated us to work together is our shared interest in eradicating militants who are conducting acts of terror almost on a daily basis. During his last meeting as the U.S. special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, James Dobbins, along with Ambassador Olson, met with COAS General Sharif, National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry in which he stated that Pakistan’s significance will multiply after the U.S. withdrawal from the region. The militants understand this fact very well that a strong tri-lateral relationship between the U.S., Pakistan and Afghanistan is a threat to their existence. Our nations have sacrificed a lot to fight the militancy in the region, especially the lives of our soldiers. The worse thing at this crucial time would be for our nations, especially AF-PAK, to focus on internal differences instead of these terrorists. We need to focus on the militants who have attacked and brainwashed innocent people, bombed mosques and schools, and who are continuing to plant IEDs that would indiscriminately kill more.

We share a common goal when it comes to the security and stability of the region; therefore, it only makes sense for regional partners to form a healthy working relationship for the betterment of the region.

Need final troops surge to clear out Afghan border areas. Commit 100,000 troops and Pak will do the same and meet in the middle. Dead Fazullah and dead whatever you are after and can end this once and for all before years end.

@CENTCOM l Just look the other way, let us annaxe Afghanistan. We will keep all charsis in check and you'll get your fair share of Naswar as a reward. :butcher:

@Icarus @Hyperion @Irfan Baloch @Armstrong

Be serious Sir

Borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan must be held sacred by the two countries. Otherwise precious blood will continue to be spilled.

Naswar is all mine..... mine..... mine..... mine............ I'm eagerly awaiting the Yanks to leave so that I can open my Naswar franchise there......... imagine flavored Naswar with Starbucks all in one place...............

Naswar flavored Starbucks? That's a first!

- And looking the other way is what we have been blamed for for decades now. People criticize us for shifting our focus away from the region after the Soviet War, so it wouldn't be reasonable to repeat the same scenario.

But... why?!

Its time Afghanistan is ''married off'', she has reached puberty. If she ain't married in time she might elope with a man in a lungi, putting us all to shame.

@Hyperion , do i need to 'explain' this?

Naswar flavored Starbucks? That's a first!

US should stay in Afghanistan with reasonable strength at its disposal. This would ensure that the regional stability stays at a sustainable level.

When the US leaves, the Farsi peadophiles sitting in Kabul will run, leaving their chappals and their teenage toyboys behind.

.
Nah........ not flavored coffee, but, flavored Naswar instead of them cakes.......... :D

By the way, could you check another bit of info for us......... has the United States actually offered Apache's for COIN? We read it in some local news today (not very reliable source).....

Cheers..........

@Aeronaut - Lala, going out for a few hours....... will chat when back! :)

Naswar flavored Starbucks? That's a first!

I'd rather we not put our d**k in crazy. We'll end up preparing the meals and doing the dishes as well.

you summed it up well but we need to show we can control FATA first before going ahead with annexing our strategic depth as well

@CENTCOM people like myself are prepared to go an extra mile to make this tri-lateral relationship work from the Pakistani side .. YES you guessed it. there is the inevitable

BUT

the problem is with the mindset of the collection of warlords that are otherwise known as Northern alliance and their deep seethed animosity towards the neighbor to their east, something that goes beyond the creation of Pakistan and still would be there had it been a combined India, their refusal to accept the Pak Afghan border and claim over the land within Pakistan and also their ethnic hatred towards their fellow Afghan Pashtons is a big road block.

if that wasnt enough, the Afghan regime has willingly acted as a host to Indian and Soviet subversive elements before , during and after the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and engaged in terrorism in Pakistan through support of terrorists like BLA , toy bombs and Hammer group and now TTP leadership is a declared guest of Afghan intelligence from whom American troops in brodad day light snatched away Latif Ullah Mehsood.

its a too way process so we expect some relief and some friendly pressure on both of your Indian and Afghan partners to rethink about their subversion in Pakistan otherwise this circular blame and counter blame will continue for decades to come.

I think those all can be controlled.

My only worry / suggestion is that we need to make sure

it is

CENTCOM: AF-PAK-US

and not

CENTCOM: India-AF-PAK-US

As this will not work.

I mean Who in CENTCOM will not be aware that Pak army is fighting in FATA and Indian army is doing drama of shooting at kashmir and Punjab border.

What the heck.

No one in Pak army want to have shooting incidents on the Eastern border. Only India wants Pakistan to be distracted from the Afghan border.

If India is this antagonistic on the Eastern border, you can well imagine what Indians will do in Afghanistan in order to keep its proxies up and running.

So we must make sure

CENTCOM: AF-PAK-US

remains

One word: TEAMWORK. There is the solution.

I feel like we could be a little more serious here....

perhaps but it is nice to see the change in attitude compared to what would have been posted on a CENTCOM thread a few year ago, mutual respect and an exchange of ideas even with a bit of levitiy is better than vitriol
