It's past midnight here in America--I am a tad late. But want to recount my chat with my mom in Karachi today. She said people are going wild and crazy with the celebrations on the streets of Karachi today. I asked her: Aren't you glad that you and Pappa ran away to Pakistan around Partition? She said, yes, son! I am so glad. We are so safe and happy here!
(She is around 80).
