CDA, district admin carry out anti-encroachment operation in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and district administration carried out a grand anti-encroachment operation on Islamabad’s KASHMIR Highway on Saturday.

All the major marriage halls, famed international food chains and hostels were demolished.

The authorities do not faced any sort of resistance during the operation however; the owners maintained that CDA and district administration caused loss worth million to them without any prior notice.

On the other hand, the authorities while rejecting the accusations have said that several notices were issued to the owners but no one implemented over them.

They declared that the operation will continue until the complete elimination of encroachments.

More than 350 personnel of Islamabad police, Rangers, Elite Force and CDA participated in the operation

This joke needs to stop every year they do operation and in the end cda just lets a new party occupy that same spot

Agreed. Time for state policy for Islamabad and some new changes. Agreed every year they do these operations which range from the rich to the poor. Why allow them to occupy in the first place?

This isn't just a problem in Islamabad. its all over Pakistan...

Let me give you an example.

Lahore. Ferozepur road where you can buy bathroom accessories and electric equipment displayed their ware outside their shops and started reaching as far as the road.. Couple of years ago the lahore management did a mass operation and after great struggle got it back. They build a whole new side walk. Couple of years later. The shop owners have encroached it yet again.. So now another operating awaits and another mess to open... The operation will take money and resources.
Sheikhupura. people have encroached land near civil quarter road zibago about 3 Marla's.. They got their house and then they build frontal shed and walkway... About three years ago the govt had to do a massive operation to extend the road and it took years to get that land back. Why was this encroachment allowed?

Same shit is in Muslim town. People over there have their house deed numbering the line to the gate but have extended their property with a small garden along the walls and a runway...


This mismanagement cannot be allowed nor tolerated...

A massive policy is required to keep in check the government lands so that they are not encroached anymore.. You can't wake up ten years later bulldozing people's houses and shops.
