Watching it in-person would change your opinion.

Perhaps. I haven't been in that neck of the woods in about 10 or so years. Do you think Bruce Riedel is correct about the Taliban influence? loosing SWAT is a big deal, and so close to the Capital

Well, It's a matter of perception. There are two ways to look at it. From the western point of view, it's being labelled as a surrender by the Pakistan army to the Talibans. From our point of view, things are a bit different.
