Punjab has got the largest number of cancer cases in India but has no nuclear powerplants.

Every field will have similar information ans statistics relating to death of employees. But the given data isn't sufficient to prove that nuclear power in India is a unsafe option.

Of the given 2600 or 70% cancer related deaths, the reason may not necessarily mean radiation from the powerplants, it could be genetic, due to smoking etc too. India has over 7 lakh cancer death a year, and this 2600 figure over 20 year pales down in comparison.

Suicide rate of 255 in 20 year from BARC also pales down when compared to the 1.35+ lakh suicides India is seeing every year, and even this does not imply anything against safety of nuclear powerplants in India.

Yes this data is insufficient because government didn't want to leak that, but some mad people get little bit and release in front of the public and tell all "see folks" what happens here.

Its not about leaking, its simply the Right to Information act. This is just news made to be "sensational" presenting facts in a twisted way. whatever said, nuclear power is the future for India.

If true, that is some serious problem.

Actually that data takes into account only the number of deaths caused as a result of all health problems.. So not 70 pc of employees have cancer straight away. A twisted report.
I am sure, if India takes census as a whole, more people die of health related ailments than natural causes.
