It's also telling that only one (1) individual of all Muslim women in France decided take the matter onto the Human Rights Court.

So why criticize and morn when a state law of one country makes women wear Hijab for e,g Iran or Saudi Arabia. Why criticize them when you are no less hypocrites than they are specially when it comes to protecting the rights of one so called muslim women who prefers to wear Hijab due to her personal preference and not because someone is forcing her too.

Lets face it West accuses muslim countries of being less tolerant towards other minorities while they themselves are no better when oppressing the rights of their own minorities(muslims in this case).

Their Country , their rules. If you don't like it , don't go there....

I hope you say the same next time washingtion post or NYT writes an article on how the women in Pakistan are being oppressed and how Christians are forcefully converted to Islam.

Its funny how these western democracies pretend to be the champions of the world when it comes to freedom for women and regularly criticize muslim nations for suppressing the rights of women's and not realizing their freedom yet they try to ban the same freedom in their society when a muslim women decides to wear a veil or hijab due to her own free will and not because the state forces her too. It is support for those women which are forced by group pressure to wear veils/burkas,
even if they theoretically have a free choice.
Group pressure is restricting free choice as well, so this is a lesser of two evils.
There are severe restrictions on how you can buy alcohol as well.
This is to protect alcoholists againsts themselves, and the majority
have to show solidarity by abiding to those restrictions.

Once the Muslim world stop outlawing not wearing a burka/veil and
stops applying group pressure on women, then such laws are not neccessary any longer.

I'm not a sissy. I'm a human. Human beings have a face. The face is the prime area we use to communicate with. I dont care about Islam. Im christian, In europe we need to see the persons face. Its a cultural imperative. How do i know i have a women or men infront me? Anyone can hide behind this. I see no reaction, i dont see mimic and feelings. We dont want this here. You dont like that? Burka is Arabian piece of cloth. Its more cultural then religious.Its silly to wear in public in Europe. Head scarfs and modest dressing should be fine but wearing Burka while say going into a bank is not a good idea.

Nobody says anything against a head scarf or modest closes. But i see Burka as provocation. Many european countries have a ban that you can not cover your face, only few exemptions like a bike helmet.

Lulz. I don't think you have a legally enforceable right to wear a mini skirt, even in Europe. You're bound by the dress code of your respective school/college, work place etc. and they can choose to bar your entry on the basis of the same.

Technically speaking, a woman wearing a burqa/hijab has comparatively more freedoms than a woman wearing revealing attire as religious considerations are taken into account in most institutions. Also, the person can always sue citing religious discrimination as she would(probably) claim wearing a veil is her religious obligation.

Thats another case. A church can forbid you to wear certain clothes, and they have every right to do so since its their property.

But unlike SA, no one can forbid you from wearing what you want on the streets.

Well ask yourself...what is the reason for women to wear burqas?

Why do they have to do it? And why are men not bound to such laws?

How can the state know that a woman is not forced by male family members to wear it?

Don't come up with absurd logics when you cant defend your point of view. How would you know if you have a man or women in front of you? lol seriously. You cant tell a difference between a man and a women. The picture you have posted above is of somewhere in Afghanistan or maybe north warzistan because this is the kind of veil those women wear. I hardly doubt if this is the veil women wear in Europe.

Also tell me something why would a man want to cover his face? Do you know how absurd this sounds. Women do that because of religion compulsion not otherwise. Men doesnt have such compulsion to begin with.

You want to impose your cultural and religion thing over others..fine but that's anything but called a free society. Europe is hardly free when it comes to minorities and their rights.

P.S let me clear on one account i dont care what europe does, the only thing i find it rather amusing is when the so called free society criticizes us third worlds of not protecting the rights of women and minorities.
