I dont agree with this point. some taiwanese think china's development was due to their contribution. But the china's development is due to that we have Hongkong/overseas chinese/opening and reform/diligent people/.......etc. Taiwanese contribution is less than 1 % of the total. Most of taiwanese come to mainland just for money and most of them invest in low class MFG and service industry. Foxconn is a good example. If we dont have foxccon, so then our own OEM supplier BYD will replace its position. In most cases, Taiwanese just uses our market and Human resources to earn money and support Taiwan independence movement.
Not all Taiwanese support independence movement, as we can see it over-hyped several years ago, but reality is not like that. The only reason why we oppose reunification now, not because we dislike of being Han Chinese, but we want to make sure everything is safe. We don't want fall into tiger mouth (aka mainland dictatorship who disrespect their own people).
It's true that not just Taiwan who support mainland China. But Taiwan sacrifice to support mainland China can be considered big too. Up to the case where it lead into stagnation and heavy brain drain. Taiwanese who had money prefer to invest it in the mainland over Taiwan. Millions of Taiwanese are in the mainland now, they are not ordinary Taiwanese people, but among Taiwan best people.
We don't just invest low class manufacturing and service industry. But we also bring business knowledge, experience and trade network that very valuable and can cut the time consuming development and economy progress from backwater country to became what is today, into a leap forward.
Taiwanese who went to mainland. Yes, they do business to survive. But their mentality is not a we and them mentality. They saw and feel mainland China like their own home and country.
Now i have a good mood as China's first indigenous aircraft carrier is finally out, and i don't have to time to waste with you two fruitcakes.
If Taiwan had aircraft carrier technology, mainland probably don't need to buy it from Ukraine. They can develop it from zero.
