The terrain didn't allow the entire India-BD border to be fenced earlier along with the inherent desire of those in power in border states to facilitate the immigration of BD aliens to India.

So, why is your government in BD yet to give nod to India's proposal of constructing anti-cut, tamper proof steel fences? Is Bangladesh fearing that illegal immigration would be harder post construction of modern fence.

No country is allowed to build a fence within 150m of the borderline. Only a callous India can request such an absurd thing. So, it was rejected. Miyas are the resident of Assam since Bakhtiar Khilji's invasion of Assam in 1205. This invasion paved the way for the Miyas to relocate themselves to the vacant lands of Assam. Now, they are 35% of the entire Assam population. If it is only western Assam, they are about 90%.
