All in All the ability to move thousands upon thousands of troops and hundreds of tons of equipment to any where in the Indian Subcontinent in a few hours.

Very impressive capability being built up.

.
wish India had started investing in the NE in last few decades to build awesome infrastructure

. .
This will help India to truly mobilize and take advantage of its sheer numbers.

An interesting historical footnote, if I may:

At the start of WW2, the Nazi foreign minister threatened his Swiss counterpart with invasion. The Swiss minister replied that half a million Swiss volunteers would not let that happen.

The arrogant German said, "Well, what will happen if I send a million German troops?", to which the reply was: "Each one of us will have to shoot twice, that's all!".

Peace!

Bad analogy

Bad analogy

Please let me state my point another way then to clarify it sufficiently for you:

Numerically smaller forces traditionally rely on other means to bolster their effectiveness against numerically larger forces.

Please do let me know if you need further simplification and elaboration in order to gain at least some comprehension of this fact.

A recent academic article on military power projection as a
tool of Indian foreign policy may be of interest. It discusses airlift issues: Walter C. Ladwig III, “India and Military Power Projection: Will the Land of Gandhi Become a Conventional Great Power?” Asian Survey, Vol. 50, No. 6 (November/December 2010).

I can't post a link to the paper because I am new here, but if you google the title or author you can find it
