By that logic, did you expect India to check with Pakistan for the presence of Chinese on their side of the LoC every time India responds to a ceasefire violation?

The Chinese have no option but to suck it up even if India retaliates. After all, it was not India that put Chinese soldiers at a disputed area claimed by India. Chinese knew very well what they were getting into when they went ahead messing with an internationally recognized disputed territory.

The Chinese have none but themselves to blame to have pushed India into a corner. Short of declaring a full fledged war, there is nothing China can do to further deteriorate their relationship with India.
